You can never go wrong with a nifty 50, that’s for sure!

The weird thing is that, arent you just stacking another lens on top of the existing smartphone lens?

Those are really dope. I love how slim and low-profile they are. Good deals for sure.

Yup, you’re absolutely right. With a 100mm lens, you’re probably around 3-5 feet away, whereas 48mm on a phone is a sweet spot. The problem with zoom, even optical, is that you lose some depth and quality. AI does a decent job maintaining sharpness, but true depth comes from having a larger sensor and better optics. One way to enhance depth (to improve your image, if you use optical zoom) is by adding foreground and background elements to create a more layered composition…

This is why prime lenses are a much preferred…

Wow thats pretty insane. I havent really explored 85mm yet, but i’d love to try them. How has your expereince been ? Do you have any 85mm IEM shots ?

It’s def helpful you’ll make full use of your phone’s native aperture and sensor without losing detail (though this depends on the phone). The only trade-off is that you might lose some depth of field. But honestly, I think a macro lens is probably the best investment you can make for a smartphone cam

hate the fact that both IEMs and cameras are such expensive hobbies. Pfft :smiling_face_with_tear:

These are some insanely beautiful shots! I think the M8 was meant to be seen in this exact setting

85mm is fantastic. I think it’s the best focal length for portraits and you can get an 85mm 1.4 that doesn’t weigh a million pounds. I use a manual focus 85 1.4 and while it’s challenging to focus on things wide open, I like the challenge.

May he RIP but my favorite photog of all time, John Free always said ‘no easy shots’.

Here’s a few 85mm shots I’ve taken;

That means a lot, thanks so much, Greg :pinched_fingers:

This is 90mm (Sony 90mm Macro to be precise)

Just found out that my mousepad is perfect for taking pictures :star_struck:

@Rikudou_Goku As you don´t want to edit your shots a lot, don´t be afraid to use the Vivid colourprofile of your Sony cam…this shot pretty much came out of camera like this…only removed vignette and adjusted lighting

How does the distance affect the lighting though? I assume that the closer the actual camera is to the subject/lights, the more light you get in?

hmm, havent messed around with the profiles since I tried them on the xperia I have and I was only a fan of the NT and ST profiles.

Rikubuds GAS2/3 diaphragm (I think)

Just noticed the pics came out dirty…guess thats from the sensor since it is a used camera and the lens is brand new. Luckily I got my cleaning tools so gonna go clean it after watching some guides.

So incredibly detailed and sharp… man. I am jealous! The flexibility a macro lens gives you is unparalleled.

The bigger size is probably not really a problem for me, in fact the bigger lens actually makes for a great gripping spot. (the pics were taken without a tripod although I was able to put it on the table and just angle it a bit.)
But DAMN that weight REALLY is noticeable.

And…does any 52mm lens cap work for this? The stock one is horrible…

(see how the stock cap works…)

Yes, as long as the filter thread is 52mm, any cover will work just fine for you!

I’m listening to GAS2 currently. Just got them back after a friend ‘stole’ them for 18months.
