Dom Q’s spot - IEMs and Photography

Is a sensor cap needed? I dont have one but feels kinda useless if you have a lens always attached to the camera?

@domq422

Chap was hoping you could help… I seem to remember you using Bluetooth amps a lot.

Have you got any pics with short cables - trying to explain the concept of using a Bluetooth amp with a shirt clip and a short cable to a friend and he is looking at me very blankly.

EDIT - or anyone else that has a pic showing something like this setup

Thanks in advance.

There will be times when you won’t have the lens attached in order to fit into a bag filled with other “essential” items - ie buds.

Slimmer profile - for the silhouette :joy:

I feel like if I went out with the camera in a bag, I would just take my small sony kitlens or a similarly small prime lens? They dont take much space.

:joy: that is what they all say to begin…
Then more & bigger lenses get added as a necessity to the bag…

More other weird shit gets pushed in (especially as an audiophile) and suddenly the camera and lens(es) are doing a horizontal hug

It’s a classic! Even with GAS3 on hand (among others), GAS2 stays in my bud rotation. I’m still gathering my thoughts on them but the Lancer 3 is also a serious banger. The bass is among the best Riku has done so far IMO, decent quantity but the quality and extension is great!

Lancer 3 is my comparison partner to the GAS2 this evening - GF hijacked them when I bought them as some future present (I paid for) that she forgot to give me :joy:

I never take my lenses off but that’s usually a big no-no. If you’re traveling, it’s smart to take your lens off and put a body cap on the camera. Don’t be like me, be smart, use a body cap when traveling

Ahhh I don’t, bud, but I can do one later when I get home! I have my BTR17 with me right now but not a short USB-C cable. I usually go raw dog BT when I’m heading out to work and wired once I get home.

I meant more short IEM cable

Sounds like a great evening! My companions for the week so far:

Alter Rider 3, Lancer 3 and Grand Archer 1
The Lancer 3 and Alter Rider 3 are somewhat similar, with AR3 being a little warmer overall and L3 having more midbass and more excitement in the mids and treble. I will probably swap tonight and bring in my other current trio (GAS2, GAS3 and Caster 3).

hmmm, is it about making it safer for the camera somehow? (and not due to space?)

Ohhhhhh, I actually don’t have any short IEM cables… Sorry!

Both in theory but I generally baby my shit excessively so I’m not the best judge for whether it’s actually needed in reality

Exactly.

I have a Nikon Z6 with the F mount to Z mount adapter+ a sigma 35mm 1.4… it’s so much weight and strain on the actually body mount it self that if something were to hit it at an angle or I happen to drop it, I bet it would break either the lens mount or the mount on the body. It hasn’t happened yet but, I’m playing with fire a bit lol
