Do you have any ear tips recommendations?
Looks pretty sweet to me. I like the brownish rather than orangeish look.
They are all unique - I’ve seen some that both pieces in a set differ noticiably. That’s just the nature of real wood grain born from nature.
One thing I discoverd was that once I put them in my ears I wasn’t able to see them, so I just listened to them instead.
Wide bore.
Asla light
Velvet wide bore
I use it with Divinus Velvet wide bore
I got mine a few days ago and got to spend some quality time with them last night. I gotta say, these things are fantastic.
I love the build and happen to think the wood faceplates are beautiful. This unimpressive cell phone photo doesn’t do them justice. The cable is super, I love the look/feel, the interchangeable connectors are quality pieces. I do wish it was 5 ft. long, but it’s not a problem.
As for how they sound… They are sublime to me. The first thing that strikes you is the bass. Incredible bass. Very strong and goes loooow! But it’s fast and controlled, not over the top to me at all. Acoustic instruments and vocals are very special. There is a power and refinement in the stage that takes you away. The realism is striking. These things just grab you and won’t let you go. I have tried a few different tips and have discovered Spin Fit tips. I love them. They are bringing out the best in these phones, and I am extremely happy with this purchase. The Davinci IMO is a winner and is turning out to be a great addition to the fleet.
Congratulations on the purchase
Very easy to listen, warm and musical. A safe recommendation.
Hi everyone. A stroke in July took me away for quite a while. The tape mod on the DaVinci did reduce the bass since I felt that the bass was too powerful, yet the bass still sounded unnatural to me. The issue is that the sub bass intensity is noticeably greater than the bass intensity. This affects the way the bass sounds versus simply having either more or less bass which would still sound natural in timbre.
My recovery from my stroke improved to the point where I was able to again enjoy listening to IEMs. Getting back to listening to IEMs was a riot of fun. Yet I still wondered if I could let the DaVinci’s bass still be powerful yet also sound natural by making the amount of the sub bass to no longer be more than the amount of bass. I had a wild idea that perhaps the Tangzu Tang Sancai Wide Bore eartips might tame the sub bass to get the sub bass in line with the bass. A cutaway drawing showing the extremely angled flares near the ends of the nozzles on these Tangzu Wide Bore eartips made me think that these eartips would tame the sub bass relative to the bass. I ordered and received these eartips, and I put them on my DaVinci. Well, the Tangzu Wide Bore eartips worked splendidly. I am now able to enjoy the DaVinci’s powerful and layered bass since the bass now sounds very natural! This is without any tape mods. The DaVinci with the Tang Sancai Wide Bore eartips now is one of my favorite IEMs.
Note that the Tangzu Balanced eartips do not tame the sub bass relative to the bass. It is the Tangzu Wide Bore eartips which tame the sub bass relative to the bass.
Glad to see you are feeling better. I am willing to bet that was a wild experience. Welcome back!
Nice tip on the ear tips. I might just give that a shot. I love my Da Vincis, BTW. I only have a few sets at the moment, but I feel like the Da Vinci is the best one.
Thanks. I really like the DaVinci now that the bass timbre sounds correct.
Dunu DaVinci is one of my favorites IEMs to pair up with my iBasso DX260, working well together across my moderatetly eclectic library and excelling particularly with modern Jazz/Fusion, Funk and Progressive/Post Rock
