Dynamic, Planar or Electrostatic

Yeah, during that time period dynamics in music and tubes were very prominent. I still use tube electronics in my mastering chain (but that doesn’t necessarily relate to the dynamic driver). Also some planar drivers can have very good dynamics

Yea for the BMR it does like it’s power, and I think it’s a pretty unique speaker. I personally like it nearfield as I think you get more from that BMR

I really don’t care about the driver as long as it sounds the part imo. I just love how much the pmc’s outperform the super high end speakers you see at shows lol

I like most speakers in the 7-10’ distance, that’s mid-field I suppose. I think they were set up at about 10.5-11’ away. He had them set to cut mid/upper bass a bit. Nuance and accuracy without strain. If somebody came up with these at like $700/pr in 1985 when people still had main room non video stereos, they would have grabbed a big slice of the market.
