Sorry to double post but I want to wake up the thread. What’s a good alternative to these? I’m hearing the Adam T8V makes for a similar not-quite-monitor appeal. Anyone have experience with those? They’re cheaper too, but with significantly less connectivity. My main priority was a powered speaker with good imaging/accuracy, good bass (should touch 40 Hz), treble that is not in monitor murder territory.
EDIT
Can’t edit my review post anymore, I’d like to add as a positive that these speakers create a pretty nice sense of depth if your DAC allows for it. If you leave it in monitor mode it will seem the center is a bit relatively recessed, but it’s still there.
The dynamics of louder swells of crescendo’s in pretty much all genres are also incredible on this system.
I almost sold my pair the first week I owned them. Mine had to be broken in for several days on a very bassy track on repeat to sound good.
They’re very source dependent. The built in dac is pretty good and shits on entry level $100 dacs, but it need a quality spdif source and cable. A raspberry pi streamer, hat and blue jeans cables will really elevate their performance.
I’ve got mine setup on top of my bar in a relatively large and echo-y room.
Given the size of the room, I added in the Emotiva SE12 for some additional low end.
Sound is all unbalanced from a Chromecast audio → SE12 → S3000Pro
Thankfully, they have enough push that if they’re rotated slightly, they cover the outside area really well (just on the left of the pic)
I have these nice speakers.
But only I hear a very high not loud noice when usb is selected. Its hard to describe. Nothing is connected. When connected this also occurs. You hear it very clear from the rear of the right speaker, other inputs dont have this issue.
Anyone else experiencing this to?
Received them today, but its very annoying when your hearing is good.
Budget sometimes counts and changes many things.
But if you are searching DACs with XLR outputs + volume adjustment and sub with XLR inputs and outputs. Plus if you find something suitable with the mentioned ^^ options ^^ you are already in very solid ground as to say.
I’m thinking about getting these for TV/Movies/Music (Bluetooth for convenience). Has anybody compared these to the Klipsch The Sixes? Also considering the Klipsch RP600M but not sure if an additional amp complicates things and even which amp to pair it with
I currently have the Edifier S350DB, but was looking at the S3000Pro as an upgrade. Anyone have thoughts on whether the S3000 would be a notable upgrade over S350DB?
Well I just got these today, they were my Black Friday gift to myself. They sound pretty fucking outstanding. Insanely beefy for something their size, really detailed. Their low end is super impressive but I’m going to get a 2.1 dac and bring a sub into the mix. Gonna be a hell of a small-scale setup.
These are definitely endgame material as far as powered bookshelf speakers go. I know there are several price tiers above but it’s just like… For what?
More neutral, more detailed and more natural sounds that lasts for years. More power and sound volumes for bigger needs or just little needs. Every need is suited.
Better tuning and options for adjustments.
Ability to maintain and repair with in warrant and after. 5 years, 8 years, 10 years, some can be maintained and repaired by factory after 25 years.
Just few that popped in to mind.
There are plenty of failures and not easy to get repair topics on malfunctioning or bad Edifiers.
As for the tiers above. There are but only few issues and those actually there. Are taken care in world wide scale.
So that is where the more bigger cost comes to play. Quality for longer period of time.
