Yellow looks great! What’s the price?

Not sure $ yet but my first prototype is got to listen to was a tad bass shy for me, so my feedback was put 2-3db more into it.

And Put the Yellow one back into the Availability list.

That’s my take just looking at the graph, and I think that’s a pretty good take based on what you’ve liked in the past. Add some bass, maybe tone down that 3k spike. Looks shouty and flat.

But maybe a lot of 13k and 9k that is making it be a bit sharp. Might be too bright leaning.

What type of signature are they going for?

They actually had a version with the bass boost the Beryllium driver is fast enough to handle the extra load and sounds more like a punchy Biological Diaphragm.

Think Pula is going for Balanced Musical on this one.

I’m waiting for my sample unit,
Will compare it to the new Sivga Que UTG, glass vs beryllium battle

The bass-boosted version is really interesting — I think people will be impressed! Of course, you really have to listen to it to know :grinning:

I really like the stabilized wood faceplates.

I like the bass shelf and the bass glide into the lower midrange. The pinna gain peaks too high for me in the 3 to 4 kHz region. This would be too sibilant for me. I would prefer the peak to be lowered by 2 dB yet without further scooping the 6 kHz region. My old person hearing takes a nose dive above 11 kHz. I would still be able to faintly hear stuff up to 15 kHz If I was still in my mid fifties. I wonder, has any IEM manufacturer explicitly advertised that a particular IEM was tuned for a specific age group?

That’s an interesting question! Since hearing changes with age, it really makes sense to have “age-aware tuning.” Sounds like the PULA Unicrom fits your preferences pretty well! What other surprises would you like to see from it?

Hello Pulaaudio, its nice to have you here!

Yes, the Unicrom’s tuning definitely is within my ballpark. I am also liking ToneDeafMonk’s suggestion for a bit more bass. As far as other surprises, I would like to see how well the Unicrom’s technical performance and resolution of details outperform the Kiwi Ears Cadenza which is one of my favorite budget IEMs. Even though I like the Cadenza, the clarity of its micro details is not impressive.

Oh I will have to do that comparison, I like that set and still think its one of rhe best KiwiEars put out.

Beryllium coated DD and 5k-6k scoop. The treble looking kinda spicy for me. Nothing foams can’t fix, I reckon.

We are indeed working on enhancing the bass and look forward to hearing your thoughts on the Unicrom’s technical performance and detail resolution. By the way, when choosing your favorite IEMs, do you usually focus more on sound signature or technical performance?

I initially focus on the overall sound signature, and then I quickly focus on the overall technical performance even if the overall sound signature is outside of my ballpark of preferred overall sound signatures. I prefer IEMs which have an overall sound signature which is close to my preferred overall sound signatures, yet not if the overall technical performance is either below average or poor.

I perform an initial and quick “5 minute test” for new IEMs in which I quickly look for an enjoyable sound signature and at least somewhat decent overall technical performance. I use many songs and segments of songs during my 5 minute test which allow me to quickly evaluate the overall technical performance and the rendition of macro and micro details.
