I dont think this new UniCrom will disappoint you.
I have yet to hear the updated version yet.

Same here. The Unicrom has been sent to me totally out of the blue. Your suggestion for a bit more bass would make the Unicrom a direct upgrade for the Cadenza, based on overall tuning. The Cadenza still is one of my favorite budget IEMs even though the Cadenza’s micro details are noticeably fuzzy.
I am sensitive to any strong peaks in the 3 to 4 kHz upper midrange region. Although a bit more bass is a nice suggestion which would have very similar tuning to the Cadenza, I was instead thinking that slightly pulling down the 3 kHz region might be better in order to prevent the lower midrange from sounding slightly recessed.
I am simply asking for your thoughts since you are much more experienced than I am.
The problem is if you dampen down the upper mids to much , it starts to sound congested. Boosting up the bass by changing the rear vent of the driver effects its output but less noticeable to overall clarity, and since our ears pick up the extra energy down below it carries into the lower mids.
Yes this makes it slightly mire V shaped and colorful but also more musical sounding for me.
I excited to hear the final tuning mine is almost here.
I went to your squig and I loaded your graphs for the Unicrom, the Cadenza, and for the 7Hz Zero 2. I really like the Cadenza and the 7Hz Zero 2. Your suggestion for adding a couple more dB to the Unicrom’s bass makes much more sense to me.
Holy! I guess I am about to see a hypothetical upgrade of Kiwi Cadenza
Haha, what else are you hoping for in the sound?
