I dont think this new UniCrom will disappoint you.
I have yet to hear the updated version yet.

Same here. The Unicrom has been sent to me totally out of the blue. Your suggestion for a bit more bass would make the Unicrom a direct upgrade for the Cadenza, based on overall tuning. The Cadenza still is one of my favorite budget IEMs even though the Cadenza’s micro details are noticeably fuzzy.
I am sensitive to any strong peaks in the 3 to 4 kHz upper midrange region. Although a bit more bass is a nice suggestion which would have very similar tuning to the Cadenza, I was instead thinking that slightly pulling down the 3 kHz region might be better in order to prevent the lower midrange from sounding slightly recessed.
I am simply asking for your thoughts since you are much more experienced than I am.
The problem is if you dampen down the upper mids to much , it starts to sound congested. Boosting up the bass by changing the rear vent of the driver effects its output but less noticeable to overall clarity, and since our ears pick up the extra energy down below it carries into the lower mids.
Yes this makes it slightly mire V shaped and colorful but also more musical sounding for me.
I excited to hear the final tuning mine is almost here.
I went to your squig and I loaded your graphs for the Unicrom, the Cadenza, and for the 7Hz Zero 2. I really like the Cadenza and the 7Hz Zero 2. Your suggestion for adding a couple more dB to the Unicrom’s bass makes much more sense to me.
Holy! I guess I am about to see a hypothetical upgrade of Kiwi Cadenza
Haha, what else are you hoping for in the sound? ![]()
Hey mine came in today. Nice little set that hits my preferences. I dig it so far, and it has a great tonality.
Looks impressive for $80 ![]()
That bass line on its own looks fine/good, but with a driver that has at least a decent amount of beryllium on/in it (here’s hoping, sometimes it’s a few specks of beryllium dust and then marketed to hell ) could be really good.
Got mine just now, the presentation, accessories and how gorgeous it looks in person scream quality, got the green one.
Only thing I can complain about is that the modular plug is super hard to screw out, will try with some tools.
Super early impression after 6 minutes of listening:
Bassy yet not bloated, spacious sounding, sparkles up top. Could honestly sound like 1DD+1 BA set.
Edit: did throw Penon LS tips on the Unicrom, a FANTASTIC combo!
These iems would make for a fantastic gift, they are beautiful and super comfy and sound great.
I see shells…not just any shells…just shells with lovely faceplates!
My set is held up by customs. I think that the order mentioned $999 as the price. That could be a problem.
You guys have me all beat mine should show up today, I like the look of the case they are included on this set.
Just got mine—it seems Pula listened and added a few dBs of bass, and it’s working really well. I’m a bit sensitive to the 4kHz area, so it can sound a bit intense at times, but after about two hours of use, my first impressions are very positive. The extra bass is impressive—there’s quite some of it, yet it stays clean and doesn’t get muddy at all. They have a nice sparkle on top and, to my ears, lean into a V-shaped tuning, which I usually don’t like, but in this case, they’re surprisingly balanced and controlled, and even I can vibe with them. Vocals, especially male, are a bit thin for me, but nothing too bothersome. The accessories are just right: decent ear tips, a very good quality cable, and everything I realistically need to use them is included.
One thing I really have to highlight is the fit—they sealed perfectly and worked well with both sets of tips, which is rare for me, as I usually need to adjust IEMs before they feel right on my ears. I received the blue version, which I do like, though I honestly prefer how the yellow looks on the Unicrom in particular. Even if they’re not exactly my preferred tuning, I have very little to complain about them so far.
I was really hoping for Yellow as well as I don’t have anything in the collection that is of that colour, but man.
Both my green and Your blue are stunning.
I can relate to your first impressions, sounds a bit v shaped with slightly recessed vocals. But this gives it the impression of space which works amazingly well for movie soundtracks or instrumental music in general.
My brain is adjusting quickly and I paired it with shanling UA3 for most testing as I doubt many people will be pairing it with higher tier sources since it’s under 90$ by itself.
But it does sound great on the iBasso DX180 NOS filter -suuper spacious presentation there.
The ONIX Waltz XM10 shaves off a that digital character of the cirrus brethren and makes the Unicrom even more musical. AKM pairing from Shanling is my preffered match for this guy.
So far I have a similar experience to that I had with the ISN H60 back in the day, thought it had a bit too much sparkle but with right tips and source- we’re golden.
I currently am very pleased with the stock ziigaat tips, they smooth out the top end somehow or mask it better with the low end, either way. Very happy with this set.
Like I did say earlier, this could be a wonderful birthday gift or a christmas gift to someone. And Ladies should be very pleased with the apperance, my Fiance thinks they look marvellous and so do I.
I miss the stabilised wood faceplates, they have awesome character, glad Pula decided to land with that. <3
My set finally was released by customs yesterday. I may receive them this weekend. I wonder what color the shells will be.
Of course, as I said, it’s not my preference, but I can perfectly understand why they did what they did with the sound. I still have to keep testing it, but this could easily have turned out much worse. Now we just need to know the price. It’s supposed to be under $100 USD, so every $5 less is quite some extra value added to the package.
