If you end up getting them, I am curious as to your opinion on their soundstage. Since that is what SJY Audio is listing as one of its key features.
Gotta give it to Jeff. The hinode really come to life with a lot of power. Definitely worth way more than the Kickstarter price.

Yes please do that. I have the linear drivers installed right now and I should see if I can find the wave version to see if a metric ton of tube power changes them to something I like.

listened to a few tracks, and while vocals/mids and up are okay, the bass just seems off (varies depending on the track). Granted that I was just listening to Moonlight prior, but maybe you will have better luck with tubes. I will just say again, his designs have come a long way.
I wish I still had my SNv1 around to test on this amp cause it might have killed the treble spike for me. I really agree his design and implementation has come really far in such a short time and I’m loving it.

SNv1 responded really well to power when I through them on my mono bocks, and Moonlight even more so. DMS gave them a decent review (by DMS standards lol), and he lets you know when he really doesn’t like something. I can’t wait to see how his high end headphone turns out. On another note, I can’t wait to hear how Moonlight sounds on Tubes since I was told that they really respond well. A tube / hybrid tube amp is on my shopping list for next year.

Oh yeah the SN was great on my emotiva a100 and burson 3xp but even the class A greatness just couldn’t help me. To be fair I used to hang around jet engines so a 5k to 7k spike hurts physically.
Hit me up on the tube hybrid I have a TA30 with upgraded tubes that’s kinda just sitting since I got my euforia.
Is that a Cayin CS-845A?
It’s the CS-88A and works really well with the HE adapter from hifiman.

Currently dont have my PCB-photos and datasheets on hand, but from memory, the 789 has very potent Op-Amps feeding the headphones.

It looks nice, and I am curious as to how wide the soundstage actually is. I am trying to hold off from purchasing any new gear for a while though. The current list price is $699 if you don’t preorder.
