Favorite track (if you had to choose one)

Just bought my first K.C. the 40th Anniversary of Islands on DVD Audio. Very cool, don’t know why it took me so many years to listen to K.C.

If you decide to investigate further, I’ll give you a warning. The styles of music they played over the years changes dramatically. Also the band line up changes a lot as well. You may want to try a song or two from each decade. Mid 70s is my favorite line up. The current touring band is playing mostly older songs from before the 80s, and you can find many of those on youtube.

Thank you for replying. What would you recommend? I like anything recorded well, but would like something a little more prog rock sounding. rather than ambient like.

My personal favorite albums from them as follow. Lark’s Tongue in Aspic, Red, Discipline. Thrakk, In the Court of, and In the Wake of Poseidon.

Olafur Arnalds - Lag Fyrir Ömmu -https://open.spotify.com/track/5NVM9GhtQLTTyF910jfHmy?si=zQUr4P6hSuaZwawIrP3HCw
Icelandic modern classical music. The whole album is recored in his living room.
This was the song that got me into hifi!

I have many “favorite” tracks… but the one that I have really like through the years is this one. Natalie Merchant - Carnival. I am mesmerized by the talent of the guitar player. She doesn’t overplay or overpower, and just seems to blend in almost perfectly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1-J2tTDFk4

Why do I have a feeling, that this list of replies could make a magnificent playlist, when it’ll grow pretty enough?

Tough shit. Just one?

Maybe Sakuzyo - Lost Memory https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_oq9UAV028U

I really like The Blues Brother and my favorite track out of all that they have would be “Sweet home chicargo” just because of the piano solo performance.

Its KJ Sawka feat. Christa Wells - New Life (Technical Itch Remix)

This was the first track ive heard from Technical Itch while tripping and it changed everything from this moment. Ive felt deeply in love with Technical Itchs music and Jungle music in general. This music, and this track have changed my life in every possible way.
Technical Itch stands out for me, his creations are expectional. His music shows how i feel. Such Intelligent soundstructures.

This

and it rolls into…

Stunning raw beauty, can’t even explain how you can record and portray emotions like this…genius.

Rush: The Camera Eye. THIS! Fantastically great Terry Brown production. I heard this on a pair of Magnapans in 1983 on CD. The CD had the SPARS code DDD. I Don’t remember witch model Maggies, (they were tall) but they played through Adcom separates with a Audio Control EQ/analyzer.
My first True HI-End experience. I was 18. From the silence on the start of the track to how it builds, the imagery, the wall of building sound. My God! I have been an Audiophile ever since this. I remember to this day the quick, 3d, wall of sound. Thanks Bob wherever you are.

Corners of the Earth - Odesza

It’s not a perfect song but it gives me chills. I wish it was longer.
