I set mine to LDAC only today and also started using balanced. I love the sound I am getting via SPOTIFY on my phone.
My ifi Nano BL might just be my permanent DAC on my 789 now and the BTR5 is my portable kitā¦ LOL!

guys should i buy fiio m6 or btr5ā¦need your valuable suggestions!!
So I canāt speak to the m6 particularly but as they are the same price range it probably comes down to your preference of having a standalone dap (m6) or using a source with the btr5 like a phone. Some people really value keeping their listening device separate from their phone for various reasons I personally do not and would rather have the smaller btr5. Using the btr5 for the past few weeks this thing is really awesome. Sounds great, good battery, easy to use, 2.5 and 3.5 options. I really like it and can say it is well worth itās price imo.
depends on your needs as they are ment for 2 different applications
they both can be used as a bluetooth reciever right?? and if they can which sounds better ?? The only thing which made me consider the M6 is i have been waiting for the btr5 to be in stock since janā¦
Also shall i go for Beyerdynamic DT770 pro 250ohm or the custom one pro plusā¦can the btr5 or m6 drive the dt770sā¦my total budget is around 500$ for the headphones and the dap/dac combinedā¦
ah completeky forgot it can do do that hhas airplay as well and fiio sync. the btr5 should be able to handle the 250 ohm 770 fine. I dont own them6 to say which sounds better but consider the following one has less features for cheaper but the other is has a lcd touch screen with software and additional hardware. while one is a more focused product for cheaper more money per unit to allocate to higher quality components while the other is not that much more expensive. packed with features meaning they probably spent less money on components. sorry if what im trying to say is confusing. but that the end of the day I think the btr5 is worth the money but I dont think itās worth the praise the z gave it in his review
thanks, then iāll continue my long wait for the btr5 to come back in stock
the 6 is a pretty decent budget option if you need a DAP but for just a straight bluetooth adpater I would maybe wait
just contacted fiio, they said it will only be back in stock by end of march
Good choice going with the 770 250 ohm version. The higher ohm rating Beyerdynamic are always the way to go. Personally I couldnāt stand the lower ohm models, the treble was way too sharp and sibilant. The 250 ohm really toned it down to just the right amount, and the bass was much more controlled and tighter.
Can a iPhone be used with the btr5
For bluetooth yes, but I think you might need the apple camera connector kit to use it wired, but I donāt own an iphone so I canāt confirm
Yes it can but you have to turn off the charging through cable in settings. And I wouldnāt use it via bt because apple only has aac, not ldac.
thanksā¦then ill go with the 250ohmsā¦saw this review yesterday and heās saying that the 250ohms version has more sibilance and a very sharp treble ā¦
Yeah, I donāt really share Metalās opinions here much. If your ears are similar to his then heās a good reviewer, but Iām just telling you what I heard.
Hope you enjoy the headphones! Feel free to share your thoughts when you get them.
I have the monoprice version of the bluetooth receiver and a cheaper Tao one I used previouslyā¦ the hiss from them with KZ ZS10ās or other VERY sensitive IEMās make those options unusable IMO.
FYI, I did encounter something VERY WEIRD when using the BTR5 when flying. I was trying to charge them from the USB port on the air plane next to the screens in the back of the seatsā¦ The BTR5 is unusable when charging. It defaults sound card mode but you canāt get the sound out of the entertainment system through USB and while charging it wonāt work as a bluetooth receiver. Iām assuming you use something similar at work but want to connect to your phone still, you may want to consider a separate charger or āUSB condomā.
one much cheaper option right now cause the btr5 is kinda selling at way above msrp. is the UP4 its not a neatral amp instead aims for a warmer sound signature. doesnt have as many features yet ans is like a $100
I received my BTR5 yesterday. Wow this little thing has power! Still testing with different headphones and IEM. First impression is totally positive.
