This actually makes it really difficult for me to chose anything based on reviews alone, reviewers will NEVER EQ, so i have to find out how stuff respond to EQ by myself. The Sundara was a nice surprise.
No not really. That is absolutely ridiculous. This is not balance what so ever. This is completely in the realm of quantity and not quality. There is a lot more involved in quality bass than it not being distorted. Thereās also a lot more about the music than just bass.
Thereās a reason for that. You should NEVER be looking to add 25+db of subbass and bass frequencies into a properly tunedā¦ anything!!!

Do you have a -25db preamp as well? Otherwise there is one built-in into that program, because boosting your frequencies like that might be harmful to the driver otherwise.
BTW, this comment sounds a bit insulting to me. Do you really thing that someone who listens to progressive metal and owns a Sundara (which you described as bass anemic yourself) does not know that there is more to music than just bass??? You really came out as a real douchbag hereā¦

I do not use the Sundaras with a +25db in the low end! I exaggerated that just to make a point about the Sundaraās driver capabilities.
I have a +5db in the low end and the pre-amp is -7.

So there you have it, your positive and constructive response was āThat is absolutely ridiculousā and you started your entire rant about bass without even reading what i wrote about that NOT being how i EQ my music.
I will not respond to this subject any longer because this is hijacking the thread and my only intention was to point out that there are different types of quality bass out there which greatly differ from the one delivered by the FH3 (which is excellent), and that if the drivers are capable you can get quality bass out of any headphone or IEM with some EQ.

This is just not true. EQ quantity does not equal quality.

Secondly, this is what YOU think, it is YOUR opinion based on YOUR knowledge. You donāt know me, you donāt know my background, my age, how many hours i studied this subject, or basically anything about me. I may be an idiot 15 years old who thinks Beats by dr dre are the best there is or i may be a 60 years old acoustic engineer whom way more knowledge than you will ever have about this.
Oratory1990 is a good example of an accomplished acoustic engineer who is FAVORABLE TO EQ TO BOOST BASS RESPONSE amongst other things. Or do you think you have more knowledge than he as well?
After this response i will just find out how can i block you so i will not have to read your presumptuous posts any longer (i am new to this forum so i have no idea how to do that).

You can click on his name to see his profile. Then on the right side, there is a tab that says Normal. You can change to Ignore and a designated length of time. Something I should have done a long time ago.
