šŸ”¶ FiiO x Crinacle FHE Eclipse

I agree. If i have to keep only 1, i will pick oh10 over fh3. Nothing against fh3, it’s just oh10 does a lot good that suit my taste/need.

I like the oh10 but it’s way too heavy. When out in public I take the earphones out and rest them on my ears and only the oh10 sags and falls down and just too heavy. So ordered the FHE as I already kind of liked the fh3. Hoping for the best.

That’s very true. It’s so heavy.

Hopefully fhe is to your liking :+1:

if you use tips that fit well it shouldn’t I headbang with mine and they don’t fall out

Out of curiosity, how do you feel about FHE nowadays? Since some time has passed, I was wondering if your overall opinion on the sound remains the same.

Mine arrivied in the states I think. Can’t wait to try them.

There’s a part of the video about the FHE, by Precog,

In sum: He clearly did not like them. He considers that the bass lacks texture and the treble is too hot.

I like them, they are my everyday carry, always on my backpack. I enjoy music with them, they sound fun, and alive, they have good soundstage, imaging, instrument layering. And those are the things that I appreciate more. I am ok not having a lot of detail retrieval.

Overall the first impressions have been confirmed. Even on the caution side. They can be too aggressive on the treble.

Now, I might be seen phantoms here, but after more use, it seems like they are ok at some volume (slightly under what I like to play), they sound great, very balanced. But when you push the volume up then it seems like they get unbalanced between the drivers. It seems like the DD (bass) cannot push more volume and only the BA (mids and treble) start to push more volume. So it is difficult for me to listen these at high volume, because they become too aggressive. I can listen them for hours while reading or working, but if I push the volume is when the treble becomes too hot and aggressive. Maybe I have to try different tips. I am using the Azla Sedna standard, they tend to show more open sound, with more mids and treble than bass.

After a lot of time with the FHE I returned to the Clairvoyances and the Cascades, and I could see more clear the differences in terms of tuning and technical performance. The FHE have their limitations, specially in terms of detail and aggressive tuning. But it’s a 150$ IEM, yes, a lot of money, but still something that you can keep in your backpack everyday without being too worried.

I think that review is fair. I have had little desire to pick up the FHE over the past week. To be honest I’ve been using the KZ CRN more (with the suggested EQ change). To some degree I was jumping on a bit of a meme in buying them, but my expectation was for something fun with how it was described. I don’t find them especially fun. The timbre is average. They’re listenable, and the fit, comfort and build are great. But that’s where my praise ends. Lessons learned.

@Baku_Baku its easy to forget that $150 is still considered a good amount of money for a normal person that isn’t familiar with the hobby. I definitely have that problem. $1000 for a Canada Goose jacket?! That’s outrageous!

$1500.00 for mest MkII? That’s fantastic value!

I like the reviewer, and his reviews, especially when i have the same complaints about Timeless as he is. But he’s pretty critical and harsh here .

But i understand, in the same spirit of Crin, he going to review Crin iems like how Crin reviews iem. It’s fair game😁.

When he start talking about Fh3 being congested, i thoughts to myself ā€œyeah, that’s true. But i really like it thoā€ :joy:

Got mine in last night and notice the sub bass is nice and rumbly. Much more than the oh10. Midbass would probably go to the oh10 by just a slight margin. Male vocals sound much smoother on the fhe. Less anemic, and have a little more weight to them. Not sure if that lower or upper mids. However on the oh10, vocals made my ears cringe in a way I’d have to turn it down. Got a shouty sensation but never a treble spike issue. Just that area in the upper mids? The FHE tames that area down and gives it a smoother sound. Treble isn’t as sparkly as the oh10 neither but it’s still quite nice and get all the details. Gunshots in video games sound cleaner. Specifically BF4. Soundstage is similar.

Listening to rock music is much better on the fhe. It’s just a bit smoother overall. Not fatiguing at higher volumes like the oh10 with it’s v shape. I’d say the fhe is v shaped but the bottom of the v is brought up. So vocals are a bit more forward to my ears. I quite like them. I’ll be getting the olina in today and will compare all three. OH10 is a really nice set as well. If you can get them for around $150 as well, and light a bit more of a brighter sound definitely get those. If you want a bit warmer sound than the fhe will be your better choice.

Thanks for your impression.

Appreciate the comparison with OH10. Looking forward to your Olina review.

And i agree with what u said about OH10, tho it’s characteristics are to my liking (sparkly treble etc)

Every time I hear a sound demo of the OH10, it makes me want to buy it. I’m not sure how it translates in real life but it sounds like it has great low end, awesome space and great resolution. Seems like a fantastic option under $200.

It definitely is. Especially at $130 I hear people mentioning.

Thanks for the comparison with the OH10. Please, do a comparison between FHE and Olina. Not that I think to buy the Olina, but I am curious.

It has fantastic low end. The sub bass doesn’t hit as hard as fh3 tho. It’s more all across the range.

I always use this analogy, fh3 bass hit like a foam baseball bat, while oh10 bass is enveloping like thick blanket.

It’s alot, but spread out to avoid overwhelming.

The soundstage is wide, making musical feels airy. One of my complaint about OH10 is less forward vocal.

But, due to the airy nature, it feels less like the singer is behind a veil or curtain, and more like the singer stand a little further back on a large concert hall.

It’s a flaw, but quite an enjoyable one. Especially when the less forward vocals allow instruments to shine brighter and more prominent in songs (especially rock genre)

I agree. At 130$, unless that person is sensitive/dislike bass, it’s an easy recommendation.

Definitely top 3, among the best.

That’s why I love this hobby. Having multiple sets is almost a necessity in order to get a taste of different signatures!

I like these pretty well! I haven’t really found any flaws with them(like the aggressive treble on FH3), but I’m wondering ā€œwhere is all that huge bass at…?ā€. Certainly not hearing tons of bass, using SpinFits of EarFitLight 2 or whatever these are lol. They basically sound nice and balanced to me! Nice clarity and mids for sure. I don’t have FH3 anymore to compare, but I’m wondering if FH3 bass sounded more… DD-like. Tighter, more dense sounding. I think FH3 may sound a little wider, too, but I have no complaints with this(besides that brown terd of a stock cable).
