You seem to be so handy with these headphones! Any opinion on modding the focal headphones to have swiveling earcups? Or even some kind of modding to put the “speakers” onto a different headband altogether?

I’m okay… just dumb enough to open up and mess around with expensive headphones. Lol
I modified my Clears a bit.

Focal Clear

So here’s the Clear with ZMF pilot pad. Getting it to fit was harder than I was hoping, so I used the silver body of my Clears (which I had stored away) to mess with and get it to fit. I had to remove the original material and padding to get it to work. There’s a bit of glue residue to clean up, but it’s not too bad… but once you get rid of it, the original padding is gone for good. The headband is impossible to disassemble also without doing this, which is a shame. That being said, I was left …

Unfortunately, the headband is pretty stubbornly designed. It’s not friendly to modification at all in any sort of non-destructive sense. The monoprice Monolith m1070 and m1570 appear to use the same headband though, with different padding, so maybe if you could figure out where those are sourced. Maybe check Ali Express.
