đŸ”¶ Focal Elex

I think at this stage you can give it a new name: Focal Comfort or something similar.

just noticed Drop raised the price of the Elex 50$ to 650$ I must say this is the best headphone ive heard. get em while their hot

Elex is back down to $600 again.

Im so tempted but not sure it will be a upgrade over the Aiva

Impossible to know until you try it. :stuck_out_tongue:
I personally choose them over the Aiva.
But don’t get it unless it’s reasonably affordable.
IMO
getting used is always better if you’re unsure
 I payed $450 for a used pair.

Why do you prefer the over the Aiva

It’s overall more balanced sound. Low-end is better extended and detailed. Imaging is better and more 3 dimensional. Overall exceptional dynamics, The Aiva and just about every other headphone in the price range sound compressed in comparison. Aiva has a bit better slam in the bass, and it has a nice signature too, but IMO Elex is just overall a more impressive sound that I prefer more.

Why must I be so poor to just afford one nice HP, wish I could A B them. Lifes a bitch lol

haha
 sorry
Actually the Elex sucks! Don’t buy it! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Bwahahaha lol, i know its good. The question is just how good lol

I mean
if someone told me they prefer the Aiva over the Elex, I wouldn’t exactly raise an eyebrow at them. I wouldn’t worry about it too much in the immediate, maybe just something to keep in mind when you have some funds saved up to try something new.

I can sell my Aiva and buy the elex, question is just is the Elex a better HP. Period

I have both. and i think the Elex is better. But they are very close to each other. Its not a big step up. imo a little step up. but i dont listen to my Aiva anymore. Just my Elex. i’m thinking of selling it. but idk, the Aiva is nice

So difficult if you cant test first

It’s going to come down to your personal preference. Be patient and wait and save up for a bit. Another sale will likely come around or something better may even come along. :slightly_smiling_face::+1:

True true, the urge to hear everything is just so hectic lol

It’s definitely a preference thing. I don’t know if I consider the Elex that close in sound to the Aiva. I do think the Aiva can keep up with the Elex in regards to details in the highs, but the recessed mids of the Aiva seem to be its biggest complaint. Personally, I’m okay with it and find the Aiva more exciting.

I don’t know if it’s worth swapping if it means selling one to aquire the other. If you don’t like the Aiva for any reason, then the Elex might be worthwhile. If it’s just a curiosity thing and you like everything about the Aiva, I don’t think it’s worth dropping $600-700 on, (I’m assuming you got the Aiva for 479-499) the Aiva is very capable and still a fine headphone.

At the end of the day, it’s your headphone. Only you can determine what is right for you. It’s a weird one where if you have the Elex, I wouldn’t recommend getting the Aiva. If you have the Aiva and want the Elex, it would be an easy sell.
