I got my T60RPās in today. I have been curious about these for a long time, but they have out of stock or overpriced for a long time.
Recently someone posted about them in, I think, the deals thread. I was curious and checked Amazon.ca. They were not in stock, but were on sale for about $377.00 and destined to be in stock on March 2nd. I put them in my cart as I know how Amazon will screw with prices on a product once it knowās youāre interested.
I emailed Modhouse about time frames on an Argon conversion. I had hoped that the Zeos hype had died down. The response was 8 weeks, which I think is normal.
I checked my cart the next day and they had dropped to $337.00Cdn. I hit the buy button and got a response that they would be in stock March 2nd and delivered by March 28th. Sounded like a weird time frame, but I thought, āSo what, itās a long term project.ā
Then I get an email Saturday evening stating they have shipped (Feb. 20). Lo and behold I get them at lunch time today (Feb.22). That is awesome service!
Plugged them in about an hour ago using my Violectric V220 as I donāt have a balanced cable. They are hungry. I have the gain on zero and the volume is at 2:00+. The sound is great!
Using my LCD-2 Classicās on my Liquid Platinum they sounded good until I plugged in my Schiit Loki and started tweaking them. Huge improvement! More full range and more open.
But these sound big and open right off the bat. For an āentry levelā ($299.00US) type of price, these are pretty impressive.
I received a notification on Sunday that mine would not be delivered today. They have been pushed to 3/12 - 3/20 and hopefully not any longer. Maybe I should have ordered from the Canadian store.
They def are impressive, I put some ZMF suede pads on them and a suede strap from modhouse, the comfort level is completely on another level. Donāt notice any clamp, could comfortably wear them all day. They are definitely fun sounding, with the pad swap you lose a little bit of intimacy, a little wider and the bass hits even harder, I REALLY enjoy it.
Hopefully. Its a bit annoying though because I see them come in and out of stock with āimmeadiateā delivery. That is most likely due to being offered by different sellers, but still⦠Soon enough Iāll be in the club.
I donāt understand why everybody changes the head strap. The stock one is pretty thick, but it feels just fine to me.
I bought these to Argonize them, but it sounds pretty good as is. I would like more soundstage and a touch more bass, but I wouldnāt want to lose the detail and the clarity. And I donāt want wooly/muddy bass.
To be frank itās because I have a fat sensitive head, thatās why I changed the strap. Suede is softer and helps the headphones, āhang off,ā rather than, āsit on,ā my head; makes for a more comfortable / less fatiguing fit for me.
Anyone heard these on a ifi can? LG v60? Liquid spark? I am considering a used pair and those are my amps⦠Also at reasonable volumes how bad is the sound leakage? In Zās video the sound is pretty clear but it seems like he had them cranked.
Probably a little late, but just got these a few days ago. Tried them out on my liquid spark and ifi hip dac (donāt have a Zen can). Both have no issues powering the T60ās. Liquid spark im listening between 9:30 and 10:30 generally and with the hip dac on high 10:30-12:00 (12:30-2:00 on low gain). I prefer either the liquid spark or the hip dac with xbass on for aittle more āfunā. Overall though I think the spark does a better job than the hip dac. The can should do just fine I would think.
Before getting the Argon version (I am in Europe) I am considering buying the regular version. I read a lot about QC issues on webshop reviews, but most of these seem to be from a year ago. Do they seem ok now, or is it still a lottery whether or not you get a good one?
Iāve paired mine with a Fiio Q3 (yep, it drives them well enough), although I hate the fact they charge you for a balanced cable, which I do recommend you get.
I donāt know what I would do without them. Music is tight, light, bouncy, heavy, meaty⦠whatever it needs to be, it reproduces it amazingly well. And thatās the key, we want our components to give us the best version of what you like to listen to, and for me, I can see no reason (apart from maybe some Argon like mods later on) to change things for now.
Bought a set of ZMF Suede pads and Iām really having a time getting them installed. Seems like there is too much material on the back to get them to go in the little ring.
Anyone else have this trouble or have some insight for a Pad Changing Newb?
