🔶 GoldPlanar GL2000

I asked linsoul to cancel my order in chat. Instantly received full refund to paypal. It will take few days to paypal to transfer money back to my credit card.

Thanks, i did the same. I have to wait a month or so more, but it’s worth i think, taxes and custom fees are high in my country.

By the way, I remember someone said they’ve asked Linsoul what exactly is the difference between single and double sided versions (visually) - do you guys have an answer yet? Just wanna make sure when I get mine in a few months it is not the single version. There are some theories that horizontal lines on the cups is the main difference, but I guess that’s not it.

What theories? Go to the Linsoul or Amazon.de site, and you can see on the pictures how they differ

I also cancelled my order by Linsoul and ordered them from Amazon DE instead

Yeah, but the guy from The HEADPHONE Show was told by someone that both have horizontal lines and his impressions were not that good. That’s why I accept this as “theory” dude. The only other difference I see would be a slightly more silvery color, which I need to have a good eye for this, since they might have used some better lighting for their pictures, I dunno…

If you look at the photo’s you can clearly see the difference. There’s no question which is which if you ask me :man_shrugging:

Yup, both models are pictured on the amazon page for them and the differences are extremely obvious to see.

These are the two images on the UK Amazon site…

Single sided

Double sided…

waiting for reviews like ^

though, not quite sure how people are mixing up the aesthetics… I thought that was pretty easy to see the difference between the two.

GL2000 come with balanced 4.4mm to dual 3.5mm. Not the most common cable option. So if you have XLR out on your amp you will need an adapter. Same obviosly for 6.35 SE out.

Just saying if there are people new to this stuff so you can order the adapter, which is not the most common one, before you get your new headphones :grinning:

I used a black FiiO adapter 4.4 female to 3.5mm male for some of my balanced IEMs and it started interrupting a lot after a month… Can someone recommend a quality adapter that I can buy to use on my unbalanced amp?

Look at Hart Audio Cables, not that cheap but great quality.

Yeah I know, I have a Hart Audio cable for my T60, but I’d like to use the stock GL2000 cable, just converted to unbalanced 3.5mm with adapter. Sadly, Hart Audio doesn’t not currently have dual 3.5mm cable :frowning:

Oh wait, I’m blind. Drop and Linsoul have DDHIFI DJ44 4.4MM adapters.

Not sure if this has been pointed out before, but Linsoul is saying that they recommend aat least 2 watts to drive these. Maybe that’s also contributing to the wildly different reviews (Resolve from headphones.com has the double-sided version and is not recommending them). More power provides greater electrical dampening as well as volume, right?

Oh crap, does that mean my Element 2 (1.3W) won’t help at all? :open_mouth:

No idea. Best guess is it’ll be like T50RPs and its mods (they want 3W): it’ll work on less power, but you won’t get the absolute best experience.

Same tool but with figures from T50RP Mk3.

Seems to be a little more nuance than simple algebra can describe (e.g. maybe you need that power for dampening or headroom to avoid clipping in dynamic songs, or something else I’m not aware of as I’m not an engineer). No idea about the people at Linsoul or Gold Planar, but I’m pretty sure Fostex’s recommendation for 3W is sound (and is 4.75x higher than the calculator would predict).
