Really curious about this one after watching Zā€™s review.
Iā€™ve auditioned the Arya, but couldnā€™t help be underwhelmed by it with the price it was being sold for.
Hope to try this one soon.

if i donā€™t love these as much as the neumanns , you are a bastard man! also , if i love these so much i donā€™t love my neumanns anymore, you are a bastard man! if just right im gonna do that patreon and ish for a month, maybe march, cause its when your ancestor saved my ancestors from the graboids or something

To be fair Zeos, for almost every headphone youā€™ve reviewed, you do mention some sort of drawback in terms of its sound (for example, in your TH909 review - itā€™s amp picky, etc.). You didnā€™t mention any drawbacks in terms of the sound in this latest one. Youā€™re telling us that these headphones are so good, that they donā€™t have any drawbacks vs. other high-end headphones? (bass, treble, etc)?

I have to admit, Iā€™m a little skeptical man. I find it hard to fathom that a pair of Chinese headphones are going to so vastly outperform all these well engineered HPā€™s from Japan, Germany, and the US.

Are you insinuating there are no good Chinese audio engineers? Gold planar have been building headphones for other OEMs for years and are using what theyā€™ve learned to build a great headphone of their own.

That said, there surely has to be a drawback.

There have been reports of driver failures on planar headphones from the most popular planar manufacturers. Shipping back to China to get them repaired wonā€™t be easy.

i actually find it very funny that zeos says digital tuning on headphones isnā€™t that great when he praises DSP on certain headphones (the GW1000, airpods pro, etc)

Z, if you owned the Hifiman Ananda would you trade for these? Sell the Ananda and buy the GL2000 double magnet even dollars?

Thanks in advance

I wonder how does the soundtage compare to k712 pro.

According to DigiZoid Headphone power calculator, for headphone with 60ohm and 99mw, can go pretty well in terms of power with the zen dac.

well it might have something to do with him making an absolute shit ton of money from it. he is getting gifts from importers of his favorite speaker company he says ā€œwell maybe i sold a bunch of their speakersā€ when opening the gifts. and many others he reviews. not to mention the commission. z is cool but it is his job to be a salesmen. only difference is he has to keep the reputation so it cant be utter trash.

How would these compare to the Elex? Would it be an upgrade/ side grade or not even close?

yeah, itā€™s due to this you gotta be careful when taking what he says seriousā€¦ like other reviewers take it all as subjective opinion and serious grains of saltā€¦ more so since we all hear things differently with different set preferencesā€¦

still, to hear him rate this above a Sundara caught my attention a bit.

These go dual 3.5mm TRS into the headphones, one of these for each channel, anyone know why a single driver would need 3 contacts? I thought at most a single driver would need signal, ground, the endā€¦ Looking to run these off a single ended amp, so before I get a cable I just wanted to make sure thereā€™s not something in the design that makes them need to be run balanced or something?

The headphone isnā€™t the balanced part, itā€™s the amp thats balanced. You can run none balanced cable. Only estat and Raal SR1a require special attention.

This probably is a cost-saving measure, guessing itā€™s cheaper/easier to get a 3.5mm TRS jack than a mono one. AFAIK, other headphones have the same kind of cables, they just leave the Ring floating. I did that with a custom cable of mine and it works without a problem.

Youā€™ll just need a normal dual 3.5mm to 3.5mm/1/4" cable, like these:

Edit: meant jack, not cable, sorry about that.

Fucking whore, why?
I only bought the Lcd 2 C,why is he only coming up with that now?
Does anyone know what the rest of the setup was, i.e. Dac and Amp.
I only saw the Liquid Spark in the sound demo.
I havenā€™t watched the introduction video yet.
The sound demo was really impressive, I only listened to it on my iPad without headphones and was really impressed.
Could be on the list this year.

Just ordered my Double Magnet GL2000 a few hours ago on Linsoul.

That would make sense, just using TS for signal/ground and leaving ring dead, or some combo like that, thanks for the reply!
