Good audio reviewers and ones to stay far far away from

It’s a parody account, don’t worry.
See the video about hearing the headphones through the squiggly lines.

I saw the video, but I am still not sure if it is actually parody or if he is just really that full of himself.
If it is parody, then it’s badly done. Even if he is not serious… what is the point of his videos? Just shitting on headphones without having heared any of them isn’t funny!? Most of his videos are “see that spike in the graph… i literally have to vomit, because it sounds so bad… of course i haven’t heared it, but i can imagine that it will sound bad, because I am so great”

“So tell me, since it makes no factual difference to you and you can’t prove the question either way, which story do you prefer? Which is the better story, the story with animals or the story without animals?”

“That’s an interesting question. The story with animals. Yes, the story with animals is the better story.”

“Thank you. And so it goes with this YT channel.”

No clue what you are trying to say…

Any headphone reviewer who takes shots at fellow reviewers is only hiding his or her lack of ability to properly analyze sound.

We call it “short dick syndrome” around here.

YouTube headphone reviewers I trust:

Resolve (headphones.com, The Headphone Show. The true spiritual successor to the retired Tyll Hertsens)
DMS
Joshua Valour
The Audiophiliac (Steve Guttenberg, ex-CNET)
The Honest Audiophile
Gavin’s Gadgets (straight shooter from the UK)
BadSeedTech (doesn’t pretend to know everything)
crinacle (the IEM master)
Super* Review (another IEM ace)
Wheezy Tech
Passion for Sound (excellent reviewer from Australia)
oluv’s gadgets (I know Oluv polarizes people, but I dig his no-BS, Austrian approach)

I’m not big on guys with a “schtick” like Z, Cheapaudioman or HomeStudioBasics. They know their stuff, but both try to attract as much attention to themselves as the products they’re reviewing. A good way to build a brand, but I’d rather listen to cats who focus on the product.

I love the quality of Darko’s videos. Superb production value. But the dude often reviews gear and systems that cost the equal to GDP of small European nations, so it doesn’t hold as much interest to me.

I dont think Zeos is putting on an act the guy twitch streams twice a week sometimes for 6hrs straight. What you see is what you get hes just a natural character.

I think what he meant was that Zeos IS a character himself and you may watch his video for more than just the audio review.

Watch to see whats he got to review and his how 2s. I was thinking its the 1st person view that was the gimmick.

To each his own, i pick up tips and keep hip through Z and others that review gear.

Act or not, I don’t like his style of reviews. The review is as much about him as it is the product. And he rambles on for far too long, with no real structure to his content.

I know I’m in the minority on Z, and I appreciate his contributions to the community. Just not my thing.

I dont get the hate he gets. He gives his opinion i laugh at the delivery check erins audio corner, ASR for the measurements, make a decision to purchase the component by using one of their links. (Rotate the commision where i can and hit the like buttons ).

Never said I hated Z. He’s an entertainer. I just prefer to get the information I want and get out. I don’t have time to wade through the meandering stories, talk about waifus, etc. Also not a huge fan of the camera-on-head presentation from Z and other reviewers. I like to see human faces, not arms and hands.

Z is talented. He has an audience. He gives what most people want. Props to him!

So just briefly skimming, I do agree the meze are very lacking in technical ability for the money. But I don’t think its on the same level as a sundara, I’d still say it’s a decent step above a sundara lol (although I think that’s a good example of where his source gear is holding him back, but there’s much more apparent/extreme cases of that elsewhere)

But disregarding what he thinks about meze, I do think it’s a dick move to specifically call attention to the dankpods guy. After skimming his video, it just seems like a guy who hasn’t gotten to try a lot of higher end headphones really enjoying his (who doesn’t really review high end audio or anything), so I don’t see the reason why crin calls attention to him in a video that is mostly negative. Just seems like an unnecessary dig and trying to start something for no reason

Since you’ve briefly skimmed, let me clarify what you’ve skimmed over.

I very specifically said that I have no beef with Dankpods, that since he is the most prolific supporter of Meze therefore some may miscontrue my video as starting beef with him. Contrary to the point you are making here, I was actually telling people not to see my video as an “unnecessary dig” at the guy, a point that was made pretty clear to most viewers.

I get that, but regardless if your intentions were not to go after the guy, you’ve put him in sort of a spotlight regardless, and I don’t think it’s unreasonable to believe there will be someone out there that sees this and hassles him anyways. You can make your message clear that there’s no malice or ill intentions toward him, but not everyone is going to listen to that. I understand you have no control over what other people do, but just seems like a mention that could have gone without that wouldn’t have really changed the video if it wasn’t there imo. While most viewers aren’t doing to do anything, it only takes a few to cause problems for the other party
