The frequency charts ive seen on the web shows it only will effect the treble. not so much the bass. if you use a 1 or 2 ply. DIY heaven is one place that shows this

hmm, will dig around for those charts as thats interesting. Either way its a solution to brightness

I think also anything with a larger opening is going to bring the treble down a bit, as well as anything angled is going to shift how the sound hits your ear. Iā€™d be very interested to hear thoughts on the ZMF Ori suedes as they are angled and much deeper than stock, on top of being suede.

The Helios driver is angled

Yeah, but the extra angle of an angled pad has helped, to my ears.

Still loving these, especially for EDM, techno, and synthwave. Also excels at bombastic classical-rock fusion (not sure what the technical genre name is: Two Steps from Hell, Hidden Citizens, etc.)

Still preferring the stock pads? I recently tried Brainwaves angled PU pads I had for my M40x, and they do similar things to the sound as the LCD pads that make these much less fatiguing for me.

Yes. I had tested most of the 10 sets that came with the Helios, and from a sound signature and comfort perspective, I think thereā€™s a reason they chose the stock pads they did. Iā€™ve found no reason to switch. Havenā€™t had any issues with fatigue (either listening or comfort).

Have a pair for saleā€¦EU - Iā€™d take 80 plus shippingā€¦

Keep an eye out, there are some bargains to be had on the used market for theseā€¦ especially since people arenā€™t familiar with the brand.

As someone who has bought and sold on eBay since 1998, let me just say: when dealing with an item or brand that is relatively unknown in the mainstream consciousness, the very last thing you want to do is put it on eBayā€¦ as an auctionā€¦ starting at $10ā€¦ with no reserveā€¦ in the summertime.

I just picked up one of these with 3 pairs of extra pads, in an auction that ran to completion, for US$42 shipped. The seller took a bath. It arrived safe and sound, exactly as advertised.

If it were Bose or Sony or Beats or Audeze, i.e., brands the public recognizes, I expect it would have done better, but to the average schmuck on the street, ā€œWTF is a Harmonicdyne???ā€

No-reserve auctions only work if the item is in demand and/or you are a high-feedback seller with an established auction-listing following, i.e., youā€™ve cultivated consumer expectation by running weekly auctions on a regular basis for a long period of time. A one-off of an unknown brand item when youā€™ve only got 20 or 30 feedback is going to bite you in the butt. Youā€™re better off listing as Buy It Now with Best Offer, or at the very least starting the auction at your minimum rather than 99 cents or $9.99.

If DMS reads this: Lock the focus on the overhead camera so it does not yo-yo in and out of focus.

hmmmā€¦havenā€™t seen Ant in ages. did he swear off of HFG of something?

To my knowledge the Moderators removed him according to his last private message to me. He went to a seperate forum or somethin of the sorts

Lol that came to my mind too since this thread has been so inactive. His profile indicates he still visits despite not posting

A ā€œformalā€ review

I would sooner take the DT 880 or new philips X3 over the helios honestly unless you can manage to find this headphone at around $125 as I have seen them sell for now and again, in that price margin I definitely think itā€™s worth it.

HarmonicDyne owners, I need your help.

Does anyone have HarmonicDyneā€™s email address? Itā€™s not available anywhere on the internet, and usually itā€™s stated in the ownerā€™s manual. Thought Iā€™d ask people here for some help
