Well letās not jump to conclusions here lol. I think the likely competition is accurate, curious to see how they compare
For sure but he mentioned the HD599, and if true Iād be more comfortable buying thatā¦thatās just me though.
I think it has a space in the market at its current price especially for those who want a bright bassy heapdhone. we dont have too many of those aside from like the dt 990
but seeing the narrow soundstage that is described if he is right about that might as well get the senn unless you desire something brighter
I agree. What I said is just a preference thing. Playing drums and bass has altered what I expect in the bass response of headphones. Iām kind of like Goldilocks where not enough or too much and I just canāt enjoy.
I thought you were being serious tooā¦ itās one thing to have a dry sense of humor, but itās just plain text to us. Gotta work on the execution of your jokes a bit. I hit and miss too sometimes too, but it is what it is. Just have to realize it.
Wonder how they compare to the 58x. Not really interested in buying them, just a curiosity thing. Iām assuming the 58x would rank above these but I could be wrong.
We will see (I do wonder if they will actually compete with the 58x, but they are going for a different sound than the 58x)
maybe i should have gone with the Shangrila headphone to make it more obvious
Maybeā¦ lolā¦ emotes are helpful too. =P
Thatās actually reasonable though, you can go to a larger show an actually hear that
seems like a very skeptical review. im going with zeos
I mean if itās a review, itās not really skeptical since he has them in hand, itās just an opinion
Iād agree. Definitely more bright, which for me is an automatic hard no, but we will see when more people start getting them.
The review youāre discussing here is by Crinacle. His on-line headphone graph comparison tool is pretty amazing. You donāt have need any prior knowledge to make sense of it, except for Hz numbers like 50 Hz being in the bass and 5000 Hz being in the treble.
Here is how the Ananda and Arya compare to the Sundara:
The Sundara is the straight green line. The graph shows how the Ananda and Arya get louder or quieter than the Sundara at each frequency. If they all sounded identically, theyād all be just one straight left-right line on top of the green line. The little peak of the Ananda blue line at the 500 Hz point in the middle is just barely audible. (Although, that much loudness might be significantly more audible in the upper mids and treble where are hearing is especially sensitive.)
All the headphones that can be compared using this tool have been measured on exactly the same test rig by the same guy. If youāre familiar with any one headphone heās measured, such as the HD 650/6XX, then you can set that as the flat baseline. Then just overlay some other headphone youāre interested in to get a quick comparison. (You can do something similar on Rtings.com, BTW.)
I wonder if he has measured the new silent revision sundara?
Exactly. Based on the differences between his Sundara graph and graphs by other people done previously, I suspect this is the new Sundara. Plus, he only started doing this a few months ago so all the graphs are recent. Plus, they jive with the graphs Resolve Review did of both the old and new Sundaras that brought the silent revision to most peopleās attention.
in what way is this review skeptical?
I thought Crinacle chose his words wisely. It was a level headed review with good comps, and not a lot of hyperbole or conjecture.
whats the oncensus on the silent revision is it better or worse? what changed?
