Some basic analytics maybe useful if you are doing advertising, also I wonder if that overlaps the YouTube analytics in some way.
Got it at 9am this morning and OK ⦠this is better than coffee
Also got the Moondrop Dawn Pro 10 minutes earlier so I could test it from the phone and it drives them fine, plenty loud at half volume.
Time for the DCA Aeon to go have some rest ā¦
Black Myth Wukong OST
And of course, perfect timing to rewatch Rogue One.
How will the mid range sound like on the Harmonidyne Eris with the k11 r2r amp/dac on OS and NOS modes I heard that the midrange on the Eris is bad (Iām not sure tho I didnāt listen to it) but will the k11 r2r make it somehow better?
I doubt that a different dac/amp would do much, Iām no expert but I never noticed a widely different sound from the 3 different DAC/Amps Iāve had with my planars⦠You are going to get much more drastic results from EQ though.
The mids arenāt ābadā but they are recessed, and I think that gives it more sound stage, so for me I notice it the most when watching TV or videos on YT when itās mostly āvoiceā and the combination of recessed mid and I think the early bass shelf starting at 500Hz can make the voice sounds ⦠a bit like it was recorded from a theater (like those camera recorded versions of movies).
I just run an EQ profile to improve it and get used to it.
For music and even movies the raw tuning is less of an issue, it just sounds different, but you can just roll the same EQ if itās too noticeable. I find turning up the volume and letting it play to its strengths is the fun part.
It measures ābadā but perception is different than a squiggle. It has huge soundstage which requires a dip in the mids, something must be sacrificed to make Eris⦠Eris. And you wonāt notice too much difference on amps until you are fully use to how it soundsā¦
These headphones take time. The pads need to soften and the users brain actually needs to adjust, nothing about them is really normal which is why there are so many different opinions.
So they arenāt ābadā they are just recessed which gives more soundstage? and more forward mids gives more intimacy to the sound? (Not a headphone expert sorry)
And btw do you recommend me getting an amp or dac or anything with the Eris or it just wont make a diffrence?
(Thanks for the reply btw to you and to Jeremy_Wickersheimer)
I had one because I have other headphones that are much harder to drive but the Eris are easy to drive so just a USB dongle is enough if you want to plug them to your phone and donāt have a 3.5 jack.
Since the cable is a 4.4 youād at least need an adapter. Me I just got a Moondrop dawn as a dongle. But if you can look at dongles that can do EQ as well for maximum flexibility⦠I think Hiby has one for example.
You then may want to look at a desktop dac/amp later on if you ever get a more premium or harder to drive set and it that case it will depend on those.
So after about a year mu pads and headband needed a wash badly. And unfortunately just hotwater caused this to happen.
Now where the heck do i get a new one
I have been BEGGING Linsoul to get Harmonicdyne to sell them separate. This is the first Fully reported case and I have warned them the soft stuff wonāt last forever. Let me send this to them. Worse case I can send you a black one from the Blackhole if they canāt help you.
NO ERIS LEFT BEHIND!
SN#2076 here, So iv been enjoying the Eris so much. I really like it. I was just about to buy a second pair, but There has been no per-order availability. Have they officially been discontinued?
Welcome to HFGF ā¦
Hey @ZeosPantera buddy is this true?
Thereās one still available on UK Amazon if thatās any help
Hi, forgot to mention im from Australia but will give it a try. Purchased my last pair through linsoul Aliexpress. Was going to get some extra pads aswell, cheers
Linsoul told me on the 18th
- āI think we donāt have any Eris left , but wait me for few moment for checkingā
when I asked them to send me some for SoCal, they havenāt said they arenāt going to make more I am still waiting for FEW MOMENTS for a response. When I know you will know. Amazon US still has some.
I think Tariffs might be putting things on hold but also HarmonicDyne basically makes a BATCH of headphones at a time so if they are making something else they stop making Eris to do so.
So Eris WILL RETURN sometime in October. Not sure how long to get it back on Amazon and other retailers but the golden lining is the Headband pad SHOULD become available separately for purchase. So anyone with an older set can now refresh all the pads or buy extra sets for the future.
I will be at SoCal Canjam this weekend with a few sets to show off if you are interested in having a listen.
ALSO.. a new topic will be created but KiwiEars Serene will also be able to be sampled in SoCal.
This Closed-Back Planar will become available in the near future and should be under $200! Its Tuned a bit more āāāconservativelyāāā but she still a fun one.
Hello.
I never had this kind of headphones with 4.4mm only 3.5mm and below. So can you guys suggest me a few good amps up to like 70euros? I wanted to buy Fiio K3 but it doesnāt have 4.4mm..Iāll mostly use them with my PC but I donāt really know anything about amps/dacs.Just need something small with enough power for this bassy headphones hopefully all necessary cables come with those suggested amps as Iām very new to this.
Also if cheaper amps can power enough Eris then Iād appreciate suggestions of those too.I know good amps start from like 200$ - 300$ but thatās too much for me.Iām even totally okay with PC 3.5mm port as Iām used to this quality of sound for my entire life.Iām also curious how big of a change to sound quality 70euros amp would make and if itās really that worth it.
And I guess Iāll buy that adapter option so I can connect them with phones.
Just a normie here I know I will really like this headphones (I watched too many Eris vids :D).Since young age I used very cheap stuff and never really minded if some sounds are not āperfectā Iām not among those audiophiles that chase perfect sound and since I listen a lot to phonk and similar Iāll really love them.
So eagerly waiting them to arrive. My current headphones are Beyerdynamic 900 Pro X and they have big issue with headband. If you search online, a lot of people keep replacing headband like every year or after few months.Thatās how I found Eris and also watched pretty much every Eris video online and Canjams lol
Basically Beyerdynamic used like some glue for headband and people are complaining everywhere about it including on their YT channel.
Iād have a look at the FIIO K11 (non R2R), i think you can find them on Aliexpress somewhere around 70-80 last i saw
Welcome to HiFi Guides
TBH Eris is pretty easy to drive at 32Ī© and 118dB/Vrms so you could just get a Female 4.4mm to Male 3.5mm adaptor (never go the other way) and it will work ok, saying that a dac/amp would definitely be beneficial to the overall sound quality imho.
As Zeos said himself his headphones go best with very linear amps so thatās what Iām searching for.I donāt want to pay over like 100 euros.I just found Zeos review of Fiio K11 R2R so Iāll probably get that.Thank you for helping a noobie
EDIT: That amp also looks really nice
