Thanks for the reply but I already ordered the auteurs before you replied, they are way better for me than the stock pads because my ears actually fit inside them and are pretty soft too. But man oh MAN did I have problems with the hifiman adapter rings, these little shits would not go back in to save my life! I took the stock pads off and put them back on to see how difficult it was before ordering and it was pretty easy but the ones I ordered from hifiman directly to go with the zmf pads werenāt exactly the same and ended up being impossible for me to install into the he4xx so I ended up bending the clips pretty badly. My only solution was to destroy the stock pads since they were glued and I used their rings, even then it was still a bit harder to get them due to the extra size of the auteurs. Maybe Iām just a goof and did it completely wrong but I never had problems swapping pads for the hd58x or ath m50x. Also before anyone asks me I canāt really comment on if the sound signature changed much between pads because Iām still an audio noob but I havenāt really noticed any differences besides comfort if that helps anyone in the future.
TL:DR Hifiman ring adapters -10/10 zmf auteur pads 10/10
Iām curious if anyone else had issues putting on those alpha pads or other zmf pads with the ring adapters hifiman sells. Iām gonna feel pretty stupid if itās just me and my poor tortured fingers.
I think they require and hour or 2 to get warmed up noticed something sounded off with mine just left it olaying accidentally while I got up to do groceries came back and sounded waay better.
