Currently my limit is about 750 USD and Im stuck between options such as ether cx and focal elex… any thoughts?

I listen to almost all genres except for heavy metal etc
I do have a DAC and AMP from JDS Labs EL Stack
I do enjoy wide range of genres except for heavy metal etc… currently i do not have any pref on open or closed so leave that out of the question first. i use the JDS EL stack! I do like neutral cans but idm warm cans too!
Hmmmm, in that case, some potential options might be a used lcd 2, hifiman edition xx, focal elex, or aeon 2 closed imo. You have lots to choose from in this price range for sure. I personally wouldn’t recommend the ether cx or aeon open x when the aeon 2 exists imo
The lcd 2 would be a wider, warmer, smooth and relaxed headphone, overall pleasing and enjoyable, with good impact and size
The edition xx would give a very large presentation and sound, and would have lots of impact and a smoother slightly warmer sound
The elex will be pretty dynamic and resolving, with a pretty good spatial recreation, and a slight w shaped signature
The aeon 2 is pretty neutral overall and a solid pick if you want something no nonsense (also excellent comfort)
I might also add the campfire cascade if you wanted something bassy fun but still usable for most genres

I got the Elex’s recently and they are a Very impressive headphone. Maybe my most complete headphone.
After receiving them I used them for 21 straight days. That has never happened before. And the bass is surpringly strong.
May I ask if it is the Aeon 2 Open or closed?
and which do you prefer?

There is either an open or closed, I personally prefer the closed.
It’s more of a slight w shape which elevates the bass, midrange, and treble which makes it sound pretty full and enjoyable
wow but the aeon 2 goes for 900 USD though are there any links for promos?
They have open box/ b-stock aval
So the aeon 2 is impressive, but might be a bit too normal for some, if you wanted something more exciting perhaps look towards the other options
It’s not a bass cannon, but as Mon mentioned it is a VERY full sound. Very addictive to me.

I vote for the Elex. I havnt heard the Editoin XX but i love the large presentation and detail ive gotten out of the Arya. Not sure if its Nuetral. but the Elex is a awesome headphone! I love it
Mon what do you say to the charges a lot of reviewers have made that the DCA headphones dont have good dynamics?
Old mrspeakers for sure, they really kinda sucked in that regard, the aeon 2 fixed that from my experience. I would have a hard time recommending any of the old mrspeakers when the aeon 2 exists
What you think about the verum 1?
It’s pretty good, but I don’t think it’s as high tier as the other offerings mentioned
