Anyone up for west coast?
My selfish vote is AZ - but in another month it’s going to be hot as hell here, so perhaps someplace with more elevation and less likely to melt your shoes while walking through the parking lot…

Maybe create a poll with all the major regions (southeast, northeast, west, etc.)? See where the majority of interested parties are.
Also I haven’t really looked into audio related conventions, I am only aware of RMAF, what other official meetups are there? None of my friends are into audio and my city doesn’t have any shops that I can find so I want to go to some events in the future.

There is great food in downtown Philly and DC all within walking distance and as a mid-point for folks interested on the east-coast local. I tossed in my vote. Up any further North than that it just gets harder and harder to book someplace nice In the city…cities have all gotten so damned crowded. I can assist w/ a Marriott property, hopefully get a decent rate and add a small ballroom or a pair of attached rooms to better host a gathering and area to set-up equipment, i have an internal corprate POC @ Marriott i use for work regularly that sets up similar for me as needed many times throughout the year across the country

Thanks Nick, honestly that’s the route I was looking for. A small hotel ballroom, but your idea of two adjacent rooms would probably work as well, we’d just need to ask for a number of tables and chairs to be brought in.
I’ve never done something like this but I figure we’d have enough contacts and resources to pull something together. I can second the comment about the awesome food in Philly.

Please don’t continue this any further. This is an AUDIO forum, and I would prefer it stays that way for a topic mainly focused on an AUDIO meetup. This entire thread’s purpose suffered a massive derail right away, from multiple people, would prefer if people don’t try and forcefully turn one thread discussion into another

8 people, and Philly. That’s a start, we’ll let this thing simmer a bit, I’ll bump the thread up every week or so just to keep it relevant and we’ll gauge where things stand by early July.
Since it looks like I’ll be the one shouldering some of the legwork… (did I just volunteer?) PM me if you’d like to help. I think we’re still way out but at least there’s interest.
- Nail Down Date (July 16/17) Is my fist suggestion.
- Location (research cost) This will be based on attendance I guess
- Attendee List
- Hardware Availability
- Wish List ( I bet if we ask nicely, some member may loan equipment to the meetup)
- Social Activities and Food
I’m pretty familiar with Philly chow so have no problems either organizing some catering (more time to hang and listen) or arrange reservations
Anyone that’s done something like this previously, am I missing anything?

Let me know when central USA is considered for a meetup. Dallas, OKC, Kansas City and St. Louis are all doable for me so yea keep me posted with a DM if needed LOL.
Yeah I might be able to make it to Philly (little far for a drive so would have to see about flying) but yeah would be interested in a southern based meet up as well. I’m in Nashville so anything near here would be awesome.

Nashville is like a 10hour(edit: 8hr smh so im kinda ok with that too) drive for me LOL but Memphis may be a thing, got some blues/soul and some BBQ 
but I’m on the other side of the river and I can only imagine how traffic is over there with the i40 bridge crack(actually broke).
this is really cool, wish i would have the chance to join a hfg meet once. wish you guys the best, hopefully you’ll be able to manage for a meet sometime!
