Personally Iām not a fan of the jot as well, itās alright but not my preference. What price range are you looking in here?
Not sure yet i can convince myself to pay way more then i wanted to.
I was thinking about selling jot smsl sp200 and D50s and buy a new one so around 500ā¬ i guess. If i dont buy a dac amp comb iāll keep the D50s and still pay around 500ā¬ of course maybe Up to 600
How about element 2 Jds Labs i Love the aesthtics but i dont know about the quality. AudiosciencereviewArmirm said its a great amp
Itās a solid sounding amp, I personally would prefer it over the sp200 + d50s, but I donāt know if it would do exactly what you are wanting with the arya
Not sure if you can get one, but the monolith liquid platinum is pretty great for what you are after imo, it gives the arya very good impact and control, while smoothing out the treble a bit and giving it a slightly warmer tone with more body. The cayin iha-6 is also good in this regard as well imo
Iāll check em out If i have questions,
Iāll be back
Well thats quite cheap i have to say only 130. Is the liquid Spark Better than the Jds Labs Atom? I heard the Atom is also warm and very good with very low distortion.
And holy the iha 6 900 Euros must be way better in something i should buy used for that one. Compared to the others it is balanced but i would have to buy a cable for that.
I was meaning the liquid platinum lol, not the spark. But the spark is still very good for the price lol. Also imo the atom is generally neutral slightly analytical imo
Hmmm yeah thatās a bit much, new in the us itās around 600 tbh and used even less
Haha uups i will Check again.
Okay it is a Tube interesting i never had a Tube before.
I can ship the Monolith including taxes for 660 Euros. I could manage that but im unsure about the Tubes
So itās a hybrid amp, the tubes do add some color but it really doesnāt affect the sound too much
Any used out there? Thatās honestly not a bad price compared to other amps that command a higher price over there for some reason
As in sound wise or shipping/transport wise?
Sound wise. I informed myself about them the first time i got a ārealā Headphone the Hd650.
It seemed complicated with people changing the Tubes since some tubeamps where shipped with Bad ones. But i dont remember it was 3 years ago. But i Hybrid means i can change between Solid and Tube?
It doesnāt sound particularly tube-y. Itās a hybrid so it sounds clean but it smooths out the treble slightly. The stock tubes are good so I wouldnāt worry about that, it doesnāt rely heavily on tubes either.
OK Sounds very interesting to be honest i think they will be more interesting than the element 2 since i had the element 1 already in 2018
No, there are tubes on the input stage, but a solid state is whatās actually driving the headphones themselves. So it will give you clean impactful and good control of a solid state, while also giving you a bit of sweetness and more natural presentation from the tubes (which helps out the arya). The stock tubes are actually pretty solid, later on you can experiment with other options though if you want
Sounds Like i have quite the Flexibility with Hybrid amps
To be clear, you cannot go only tube nor can you go only solid state, Iām just saying it uses both at once
Yea i unterstand thanks.
Still seems like something that i could enjoy.
cayin iha-6 looks like its made for multiple Headphones. Since i want only 1 and sell all others i think i would go for the Platinum but i would still need a dac.
I could keep the D50s or change it.
It just gives you a few ways of output options, but itās really only made to drive one headphone at a time
Personally what I would say is keep it for now, but later on then grab a dac like a bifrost 2 or an ares ii and you would be taking a large leap forward in performance there imo.
Also a note on the liquid platinum, using the single ended output of the liquid plat is worse sounding than the balanced output, the platinum preforms much better balanced on the output. With the headphones you have I think most of them can be balanced so it shouldnāt be too big of an issue. Also using the single ended inputs on the platinum are fine, but make sure you use the balanced out
Any Suggestion for a balanced cable i only used single ended so far except with the Focal Elex since they include one.
With the arya you can actually use the elex cable and be just fine imo. In germany Iām not too sure about what cables are available to you, but you could most likely find some nice custom ones for a good price for what you have
Edit: you might be able to get forza audio works, oidio perhaps? Not really sure. Also nocturnal audio? And toxic cables?
Okay i want to sell my Elex so i should send the cable too otherwise it would feel Like a ripoff.
If i go balanced on the monolith then i have to Change my DAC right? D50s can only be connected with chinch to my AMP.
