I had a pair of DCA Aeon Noire also which were fantastic but just sounded⊠kinda dead to me. If these punch way above their price point Iâd be very interested in pulling the trigger - looking forward to your thoughts on them when you get them!

My first foray into mid/hifi headphones and what do you know: ordered the XS through HiFiGo on 12/9, finally received the package today (12/30) in the US through DHL eCommerce via USPS. Knew it was bad news as soon as I picked up the box and from a quick look a sizable hole had clearly been punched and taped over. Opening the box, it was filled with nothing but empty package envelopes of other empty DHL (or posing-to-be DHL) envelopes all with the same From Address that someone on reddit has already posted as fraudulent: https://www.reddit.com/r/Scams/comments/lcvk7n/fraudulent_shopping_website_alingwavecom_bfe/
A sticker on the box, presumably from HiFiGo, says, âAttention recipient: please check the content of this carton upon receipt. If you accept the package and later discover that the contents are wrong or missing, we cannot be responsible.â Iâll take that as their awareness of these kinds of issues.
Wanted to share this as a warningâthough Iâm not sure what can be done on our end with such limited purchase and ship options at this time. Needless to say I am pursuing all communication channels possible to try and at least get the money back for these, but itâs not looking good so far.

Well that fucking sucks. Send pictures to your credit card company ASAP and dispute the charge. Definitely not your fault but be careful on taobao and AliExpress. Always try to use a store thatâs been in business for a long time and has certified good seller ratings and awards. Maybe reach out to hifiman directly and see if theyâre willing to help. Sorry about your experience with this whole thing. Sounds like hifigo was using other sellers to fulfill their orders, probably one of the many reasons theyâre not an authorized hifiman reseller. Complain on their discord if you can. They need to be called out for this shit.

yeah, i almost feel obligated to post a screenshot of this all to the hifigo discord and see how fast they take it down. pretty awful business practices, but if they are willing to make it right, i guess thatâs better.

Yeah - weâre gonna wait for updates from @esaroyan60 before we start banging down doors. But we will be heard, surely. I hope they rectify this and not make us do that - they sound like fair folks to me, this could be a backstab for them too, maybe theyâre not in on it.

i mean iâm sure they didnât do it on purpose, but this kind of thing happens ordering from aliexpress and taobao all the time. could have also been stolen in transit. either way, somebody has to answer for it.

DHL is refusing to take any responsibility and doesnât care that we have ten (10!) [empty] packages of theirs that will never be delivered. One of the DHL contacts on the phone simply stopped responding for about 4 minutes. Was never angry with her and simply asked her how she thinks we should proceed and she finally responded saying she could transfer us to another person; when she did, it simply sent me back to the main menu.
Separately, my wife has been looking at every tracking number (DHL & USPS) of every empty trashed envelope stuffed in our box and a pattern has emerged: all packages have a DHL Global tracking status of âEN ROUTE TO DHL ECOMMERCEâ last updated on 12/15 and a USPS tracking status of âSHIPPING LABEL CREATED, USPS AWAITING ITEMâ last updated on 12/11. I have no idea if any of the other products were from HiFiGo but Iâm guessing they are not. We are now trying to locate an email address for the recipients to inform them of the situation and let them know they wonât be receiving their packages. I have also reached outo HiFiGo via email and chat but havenât heard back. Iâll try the Discord too.

Well if the package was stuffed with other DHL deliveries, then it happened while under DHLs watch so they ARE responsible. Get angry, get loud, and get your way. Yelling at companies is surprisingly effective as is demanding to speak to someone higher up than them. If theyâre in the wrong, itâs their job to put up with you being pissed off. It isnât fun, but they gotta know they fucked up. Hifigo most likely isnât at fault but they should be able to give input and possibly back up your order to the shipping company.

Get the SP200. Itâs not the most inspired or flavourful amp, but it pushed my Sundaras like mother fuckers very much to my satisfaction. Youâll get about 6W SE into the XS of clean power. I donât think youâll do much better for $140. I havenât heard Toppings new offerings, but if youâre just looking for a super powerful SE amp using tech that was highly (and still sort of is, but less so ) only a couple years ago, itâs hard to beat. I sold mine a while ago, but if for some reason my G111 doesnât sound good with them I might just buy it again. I was looking at the Schiit Asgard, but thatâs $110 more dollars.

Will there be advantages in replacing my amp from liquid spark to SP200? anyone using the SP200 with the Edition XS?
the sp200 has about double the power which makes for more control and also has quite a bit more dynamic range and lower noise. there will definitely be advantages, but to get that extra power youâll also need to drop your DAC volume. the sp200 is dead neutral and the spark has a little flavor to it so there is a sonic difference in just sound as well, though which one youâd like more depends on your taste. i actually like the liquid spark a lot, but it isnât a power house.

Considering its from hifiman directly just selling on amazon as a platform? No, hifiman has tried to smack me with that 10% restock fee for shipping stuff back to them a few times for just the box itself being slightly banged up(despite it just being due to poor packing and handling of the shipping provider). Itâs due to this I donât deal with them first hand whatsoever less I am buying brand new primarily due to the warranty involved since hifiman love to have quality control problems. Appreciate the headsup though.

This is from Hifiman, I have three Hifiman headphones, from different sellers (all from China) and they all came with that sticker in the corner of the outer box. This is my Edition XS outer box, which was within a plastic shipping envelope. The others looked exactly the same and had that same sticker in the corner.
