I tried a few different ones and ended up back at the stock pads. They’re pretty comfortable, and sound wise I end up eq’ing anyway no matter what pads I’m using.

I really like the ZMF Eikon pads. The leather perforated ones.

I forget which review I read it from, but they recommended these and although I haven’t tried too many others, I keep going back to these. I’m sure I picked whatever pads helped the bass the most based on my typical preference.

The Kennerton ECLs seem pretty cool, worth putting that on your list to check out.

So the Nan-6 headband is really well made. I’m shocked for the $40 it was. Might turn a pair into a full conversion.

How do you rate the Little Bear MC2? I’ve just replaced my SU-8 in my living room with a Chord 2Qute. The Chord only has one set of RCAs though and I usually run my DAC to my speaker amp via RCA and then XLRs across the room to my headphone amp.

I don’t have much experience with preamps. Looking at this MC2 and an affordable solution to work with my 2Qute. Is it ā€œclean enoughā€?

The Nobsound NS-05p is a slightly upgraded MC2 and worth the $10-$15 extra, IMO.

I’ve been eyeing the Luminous Axiom Mk. II as an upgrade, they take custom orders for inputs and outputs.

Ah, thanks for the tip. I’ve been toying with the idea of keeping my Singxer for pre-amp duties but it seems a little overkill. I know which one my bank account would prefer…

holy… send me the buy link please! I’ve been looking for an Audeze clone band forever now!

It’s one guy that makes them and sells them on taobao. Just search Nan-6 and it’s the only shop selling them. Gotta be careful with the options though. I’m thinking about cutting the yokes and drilling a hole to match the shape of the Nan-6 and using them for the XS.

thanks man - let me go hunt it down, or ill trouble you for more help to get there.
That’s fine - I want a good headband for my good-cans-terrible-band M1060Cs.

Also, tell me more - that He1000 style strap with the holes - is that stock or did put that in?
Materials?

Also for what it’s worth, I can’t figure out an easy way to go about using this headband…

yeah that one’s a kunt - or maybe the cans are.
I’ve got the same one, the lower one, like I posted on XS thread.
Great screws - but they’re fat and dont fit. For me round Hifimans, I may need to drill holes wider, or use a different screw/nut combo - it’s a shame, the one that comes has nice mechanics and the stoppers.

Yeah I actually really like the design but the yokes are just weird. They feel really solid, too.

Yeah, but they can be bent to adapt, then they stay put there. Anyhow - work in progress, all of this.

BTW Tabao is such a b!tch man - even account setup is a b!tch, I remember how I gave up on it the last time. Stupid shitty website with so many problems - such shit.

Anyhow - the strap on that Nan-6 headband - is that stock? the underpad? or maybe I think you put it in there…

nope, that’s how it came.

taobao is definitely a bitch to use. gotta pay, wait for it to be ready to ship, pay again for customs, and wait forever and if anything happens you cant really directly contact the seller unless you have their specific chat app…that you cant download in the US. it’s a nightmare for sure, but the prices…

I am planning to try the honeycomb grille mod on the he6 v2 but a little worried about dust… Any suggestions on the best way to make them really transparent but protect from dust collecting on the driver?

you can use the mesh that’s on the stock grills on the honeycomb grills and keep it sealed. it works just fine. little bit of craft spray glue on the grill and stick it on and it’s done. there’s probably better options out there though. i just leave mine open and religiously put them in a bag when i’m not using them.

I personally used some of the thinner materials from the dekoni tuning kit
