Really like the headphones so far! I got them in today and I love the way they sound. Ill do the grill mod tomorrow as I don’t have the parts I need tonight. Also, the headband parts I need are on back order until April, but I wasn’t told that when I ordered. Will be sure to post photos once I do.

if you have an eq put a low shelf filter at 110hz and crank it. its hilarious how well they take bass boost and they will literally shake on your head with absolutely zero distortion.

Which pair of pads do y’all recommend for these? Anything that widens the soundstage but, ideally, doesn’t lose any low end?

I really thought I was going to like my huge ass velours but the dekoni fenestrated pads kinda just sound right to me. The velours are a little more comfortable and their stage gets bigger but they lose a little but of slam, though the bass does sound a little more natural with them.

Thank you for the information. I’ll probably get the sheepskin fenestrated Dekonis but I may have to wait. The pads are kind of expensive.

I was able to find them for I think $27. I’ll go through my orders when I get a chance and see if I can find you a link.

Much appreciated, that would be awesome!

Anything recommended to keep dust out after grill swap or is that not really an issue.

I was told to keep them in a lint-free bag. As an alternative, I ordered a clear plastic cover, a display case, and a headphone stand to hold them when not in use. I have to wait until Monday for them both to get to my house. I just opened up my pair of HE6SE V2s and they sound incredible!

I was thinking about putting a speaker grill cloth over it. It’s an open weave so shouldn’t make any sound changes.

I use the drop bags I’ve collected over time for my he6se and now my gl2k

I have a few also. I just feel like I will forget to put them in occasionally.

That sounds cool. I would love to hear about what you use if you do. Wouldn’t have to worry about dust at all.

I put my bag over my headphone holder so I can’t forget because my ADHD is so bad I’ll forget every time if I don’t lol

So I checked again and the listing has been pulled. Sorry man. Scour the internet’s for he400 and he500 pads. They’re usually in the listing but the he6 almost never is and they’re identical.

Just bought a set of he6se and I’m wanting to run them off a 2x150 emotiva power amp. What cable will I need to come from speaker terminal to headphones? Cheapest preferred.

I used a hairdryer to take the thin film off of the original backings and added them to the top of the new grills. I like the muted look. They should function the same and sound “open” still but this may help with keeping out lint.

Oh wow, that’s a great idea!

How you liking the sound now?

@VielenDank

They still sound very open. Then again the HE6SE seems to just love power, so the louder I turn up the volume the better. I have to be careful. Overall, I think this achieves a happy middle ground of protecting the drivers and creating an open sounding headphone with stage. Not as open as when there’re exposed but open enough for me. Imaging is still incredible. Bass response is sooooo nice on these. I’m still in the “honeymoon phase” with these.

Did you do that yourself or did you buy it?
