Nice Pic,they are true when you put the phone in the first impression when is not what your think about, :grinning:

i want fully fenestrated inner and outer with a velour contact patch. do they exist or only the inner fenestrated kind?

sir we only sell plastic and paper material earpads buy or move along please

Can anyone link to a post that explains removing the old grills and installing open ones please, or just walk me through it in a few steps. I was thinking about trying the grill mod but donā€™t want to mess up my thrice (3x) replaced set of HPā€™sā€¦

its super easy. thereā€™s a retaining ring on the outside of the grill that you just pick under it and pop it off and the grill falls out. its like impossible to fuck up. @Nick_Mimi

Well I ordered the HE6se from Adorama yesterday. I should get them in a few days. I think I may try running them off of a Parasound.

Lol Iā€™ve already ordered the honeycomb grill, dekoni fenestrated pads, and looked up how to do it (still high chance I break something). I think you and I have owned these the exact same amount of time, and while I still listen to them and enjoy them, they arenā€™t the first set I reach for. Maybe some added comfort and a tweak to the sound is what I need to rekindle the interest

The soundstage with the grill mod is mindblowing and it still has the imaging to make use of it unlike some headphones with a massive stage. They literally stop sounding like headphones. Theyā€™re pretty much my favorite all around headphones.

what amp you running etc?

These are really good headphones and I like the Sound. Itā€™s just a pain in the ass to set up the big amp for them and they are not a quick set to enjoy so I too use them less frequently. They are NOT leaving my collection though, despite what some folks say they are still high end and with the right set up head and shoulders above most under $2k planars still.

My current daily is an SMSL M300 MkII with xlr into a 789. Itā€™s my pc setup and I mostly use it for gaming but the transparency is why itā€™s my always plugged in daily. I have a tube preamp between them I can toggle that I only just recently found the ability to enjoy after using it on my GL2000s. I donā€™t like the tubes on the He6se though.

I feel the same way. The Bigger Ben drives them really well, but I always know the old Marantz would sound better and thatā€™sā€¦ over there. Not where I normally listen to headphones. But Iā€™m hanging onto them too. I love the slam they pack, but I hate that they look and feel identical to the HE-4XX I paid $130 for. Maybe dressing them up with new pads and grills will make me reach for them more often

Hahahaha, Iā€™m dying, yes mine hang w/the HE-4xx too  i actually keep those around just in case i need a screw or the headband for the HE6se, my he-4xx maybe Have 45mins total listening time on themā€¦

My buddy is doing this to his OG HE-6ā€™s (still a WIP):

looks like an Audeze suspension band with a custom face plate. I was thinking about the Audeze headband the other night when I ordered the grills/pads

Think they sell Audio diy heaven or something like that?

I didnā€™t read too deep into the thread, but I think itā€™s just a mock up. He says he modeled the stand, so I imagine the nameplates are 'shopped as well. He says heā€™s waiting on parts to be manufactured, so I guess he means the grill. Iā€™ve never really shopped around for headbands, so I donā€™t know if they ever go on sale, but the carbon headband is $200 direct from Audeze. $125 for the other version
