đŸ”¶ HiFiMan Sundara

I’ll add those to list of possible iem’s I’m currently compiling :+1:
 glad you’re enjoying those

Indeed, they’re very nice. and if you’re willing to spend some money on iems, they’re not too expensive. I like the sound signature too, but I do have to say that the highs are a bit boring so I listen to them with a slight treble boost

I think what I’d prefer in an iem is either harman target or something replicating a sony house sound
but that’s a topic for another thread lol

anyone know if the replacement pads from hifiman are the new revision? I would imagine they are have not verified though. Looks like you can buy directly from hifiman as well as through them on amazon

Hifiman did that with the focuspad and focuspad a on the 400i and the 560

Great news for people who got Sundaras and want something a bit different though. I guess they’ll start selling these new pads.

these will totally be my next headphone after i get the money (and some beyerdynamics for closed back work)
it seems to click with everything i want
warm but also a V shape, wide soundscape, not mini speakers that everyone will be able to hear from 4 rooms away, probably can work with most amps
i just have to get a hipdac and maybe some other stuff first

Welllllllllll, about that one, they do leak alot

more than the 58X? and if so would someone be able to hear it from like 15 feet between a slightly open door and walls

i’m also mostly interested because it seems the sound signature is what i like to call the “sound of the sun”
 warm
 but bright
so a good amount of bass and mids but not feeling like all the highs are removed and everything feels 4hz lower

IMO yes, I would consider the 58x a lower leak open back if you listen at moderate levels, the sundara kinda projects if you are listening loud. The sound seems up your alley but they will leak a fair bit from my experience

fwiw i just tested this, they do leak a fair bit, could hear them in my bathroom with the door closed which is about 5ish feet from my desk give or take. It wasn’t super loud but you could hear them, and noticeably louder than the 880s i was using beforehand

edit: oh you said yards, you’re probably fine

I have the sundara for over 3 years now, if I remember correctly, and I never had a problem with the stock pads, in terms of comfort.

One thing I had a problem with is that after 8 months, the glue started to dissolved, so I decided that after 2 changes of pads with original ones, I gave a try to dekoni hybrid pads for sundara and I can’t be happier. The construction is much better, and the frequency response in the bass increased, specially in the sub base, while the mids/mid-highs remain more “flat”, but not in a bad way (I don’t know how to explain it, english is not my forte).

The only thing is a down side respect the sundara focus pads is that they are a little bit warmer, probably a problem in summer
but my girlfriend loves that so
 compromises.

I posted last night on a different thread, but thought I should mention it here. If you are looking for a Sundara in Canada there is a shop on the west coast called The Headphone Bar. They bought some open box headphones from HiFiman. These were used at headphone show’s, but since there haven’t been any for a while and none are upcoming the 'phones were sold as open box. As if last night there was one one Sundara available and there were also HE400i’s and Ananda’s although I don’t know quantities.

Did you get the one with the new pads?

I have no idea. It hasn’t even left yet. They should be arriving at the Headphone Bar and he says he will turn them around same day. If that all comes together, they will leave today.
