šŸ”¶ iBasso DX300 New Flagship DAP

This is actialy something im quite interested in. The differences between like a sp1k and p6p are fairly starke, bit what exactly kind of jump are we looking at between super high end android players and one tier up dap (lpgt, sp2k, etc)?

This bugs me so damn much. I seriously want to test one of my daps se vs bal. I’m almost certain I can pick put the different bjt I will never be convinced for sure I can unless I have 2 of them properly volume matched to abx…

Gonna wait on the amp rolling for the mo and wait see what amp cards iBasso bring out in future :+1:

PS…this’s not something I’ve tried yet but can the 300 be used as dac/amp for your pc or mac etc via the usb lead?

I believe so but I also haven’t tried

Interesting, if I was to get one then I think I’d get an LDAC transmitter for my pc for it since my phone only does AAC. Although I’m way off getting a p6p right now

Yes!

It is stated on iBasso’s website I believe, the official DX300 page.

The DX300 is a little (… actually quite big) Swiss Army knife.

A ā€˜little’ Norse Mjolnir lol

@M0N from sinergy perspective would dx300 work fine with what I currently have? Considering to up my mobile setup in near future.thanks

I think it would, although I’m a bit unsure about the eikon, that will work but I didn’t get to try any zmf on it so I can’t say there, but the hex v2 should work pretty well for a dap, and the clear was enjoyable on there. I don’t think you will have any problems with the iems you have

Oh that’s great. I don’t find eikons to be more picky than clears so probably should be fine as well.
Thanks again :+1:

Starting to understand synergy, I’ve been running through my sets (I’ve not done A/B yet but I know them well) not done them all yet either…

DX300 + Z1R > iDSD Micro
DX300 + OG Andro < Micro iDSD
DX300 + Vega > Micro iDSD
DX300 + Reecho Spring 1 = Micro iDSD (need to do more listening)
and the biggest difference DX300 + Tin P1 >>> iDSD Micro

Got a bit of time this coming weekend to play more, I needed to A/B the Andro’s to see why I’m thinking this… :musical_score::metal::+1:

Haven’t had a load a time to properly A/B the DX300 and Micro due to work stuff etc so that’ll have to wait :grimacing:
2 updates however…It’s USB cable is the jankiest piece of cable ever (now replaced with various length options)…

I really don’t like leather/pleather cases add to that the one that comes with the 300 is a sloppy fit and when you pick it up/grab it you unintentionally push the forward reverse track buttons etc :grimacing: x2

Sorted though…just ordered :+1:

Apart from that its a :gem: upgrade for me

Mine is on the way. More I read about it more I am looking forward to it.

Nooooo :broken_heart:

I disagree. I find it to be among the best-built stock USB cables. In my opinion it is easy to put away (it keeps its shape), and it’s also sturdy but flexible. You can shape in any way you want and it will keep its shape. Clearly our opinion differs, the cable is among the first things that I was impressed by (before I actually went on to use the DX300  )

But I can agree about the leather case. Mine has imprecise cutouts so I almost can’t press any buttons but the top one. It also interferes with the volume wheel. Definitely needs to be worked on and the precision needs to be bumped up!

My review is finally done. You can read it on Head-Fi:

Well after a change of cable and tips I’ve settled in nicely with the og Andro’s and the DX300…I think that the 300’s increased dynamics and although not bright treble it was and increase as compared to that of iDSD Micro…so I’ve spent plenty of time with the pairing now and have grown to love their synergy :+1:
