Idk if I posted it here, but on Head-Fi I posted my first impressions about AMP11 MK1 vs AMP12.

I’m still trying to get to finishing the differences between the two, but have been too busy to get to it

Well It’s here at the barge I won’t install it till the weekend when I’ve got time to run some fav tunes through the 11 before trying the 12…as I won’t be changing them about too often tbh…Just waiting on 3 new 4.4mm cables so most of my sets can be driven by the 12 as I don’t really swop cables once I’m happy with them either…

2hrs in I’m liking the DX"312" and this’s just with the Z1R’s…Treble is smother a tad less harsh if you like, I’m not treble sensitive either…Mids are pushed forward and warmer this works very well with the Z1R’s with them being slightly lacking in the mid department…Bass seems similar maybe giving up a bit of speed for texture…Interesting so far

Told you, you won’t regret the purchase. The module is subtle, but the difference is there. I like to think of the AMP11 MK1 as a more “V-Shaped” module compared to the AMP12. This is not to say it is V-shaped, it just has more emphasis on the bass, has less present mids, and probably more edge than the AMP12.

Just out of curiosity, how loud do you listen? If you have a decible matter handy.

I am wondering if a quiet listener like me would even get anything out of the amp upgrade.

With my Sony NW-ZX300, I get 50 mW on SE and 200mw on 4.4 balanced.
