Yes, my DAP is getting old and I am sure a newer, nicer model would have a better DAC.

another very happy user of DX311mk2 here. just wanted to say that the pairing with ThieAudio Oracle and UM MEST MKII is simply fabolous 
really a great DAP even when compared to desktop solution.

Amp12 card sound impression updateā¦I still stand by my original assessmentā¦āTreble is smother, Mids are pushed forward and Bass seems similar maybe giving up a bit of speed for textureāā¦But maybe the biggest difference for me now using the OG Androās to back this up is although the sound stage width (never big with iemās) is similar, detail and separation is the biggest difference between the 11 MKII from 12 imhoā¦Both instruments and vocals have a more defined space within tracks, they seem more (and I hate this word) organic too or natural if you likeā¦
Which means to music me I prefer it lol

You are at much better luck of finding a second hand DX300 on Head-Fi. Try dropping a message on the Head-Fi DX300 thread or putting up a listing that you are looking to buy a DX300

I know been drooling over that one and the RS8 but $3k+ is tough. My idea is too replace my D90 with something interesting and portable. The my only 2 large pieces will be my 3xp and Darkvoice.

I use the AMP13 in my DX300.
With Wifi enabled there is alot of audible noise. I wouldnāt call it streamable anymore.
Shocks to the DX313 (taping it, fast walking, putting it down on an hard surface) produces a ringing sound.
From the looks of it I would assume it will be the same on the AMP14.
So if you are using streaming services without downloading your music before listening I wouldnāt recommend the AMP13/14.
But soundwise I really like the AMP13.
