Actually shuoer was first at doing this with the OG Tape.
The point is, that âESTâ wannabe does not count as a proper electret commonly used in better sets.
Iâm sorry, but in this case, price does matters.
KZs are irrelevant in the âESTâ discussion.
This is the full explanation I was looking for . Thnx alot man so itâs all about quality drivers + tuning as i was expected . Just i donât want to buy a budget set anymore cz now have a good idea about my target
I think the more budget range is important to figure out what you like/want, and then you can delve deeper. Also keep in mind dimishing returns hit hard, especially around 300 and 600.
If you ever have any more questions you can PM me
Yu are one of the best people I have met here . I enjoy reading your posts more than I want to learn something new if i have any questions i will reach out to u . Hope u the best thatâs why alot of people here love u . U and dan are quite special for me
I found the graph in this YouTube video
Most of +600$ kinera iems use 2 sonion est and they have a great extension so whatâs wrong with this one !?
From graph i donât like topical kinera upper mids /lower treble i feel like they just throw a single ba there and hope for the best if not the same ba from nanna and ⌠For me It look like a cost saving or even for assembly line it will be easier then why they donât add more ba there or customize a new one to fill those deep gapâs
Off-topic, but I wish @shuoer would make an IEM with all of the characteristics of the EJ07 + Variationâs treble
Same drivers (1DD+2BA+4EST), bass, mid, vocals, immersion, 3D/staging + Variations treble would be endgame
Iâd buy it in a heartbeat js
There is no way to compare KZ with a real EST driver. Good ESTs make good sound on cymbals, they need a little density, but still the sound is clear and good! I prefer EST to BA for high, but tuning is also important
Thanks for the words, means a lot
I think they will become too bright with tuning Variations for highs. At EJ 07 OG he needs a little mid bass and a little highs to be a TOTL up to $ 5,000.
Weâll see. Tuning an IEM is not EQ, I was told by the engineer. The Chinese saying is âtwitching a hair and you would move the entire body,â so a small change will affect the entire range. Be it a notch filter on the crossover circuit, or changing the tube length, more than one small band on the FR curve will be affected.
One thing though - since we do offer the service, some ask for custom tuning. We will do everything to spec, even provide FR measurements for confirmation before sending it out the door. Turns out, a good amount of customers donât like what they thought they wanted.
Is it possible to do those tuning adjustments on cheaper models like the tape? Or is there limitations with the driver count and driver tech being used?
Check the scale, it goes from 5hz to 50khz
This graph is for 50k ? For 50k yes it makes sense
Why they mesure above 20k is that for marketing ?
So just got the 07M this week. Best IEM Iâve ever heard. Soundstage is amazing. Now I canât help but wonder what the OG 07 sounds like. Seriously considering picking it up. Only complaint on the 07m is the driver flex, hope it doesnât cause any issues.
I know, and I have stated that before, but this is one where even the good ESTs donât sound right to my ears.
Last fall, I got some time listening to some Thieaudio sets that were out of my price range. I wasnât nuts about the timber on any of the EST tribrid sets, they all seemed a bit off. The thing I learned is that my ears donât like EST drivers ( and those were Sonion ). I also confirmed the pricier BA drivers sound better, and that I liked hybrid over all BA sound.
I acknowledge they could be fine for most people, but I always get weird splashy or shimmery effect with certain instruments that I donât like ( cymbal crashes stand out weirdly ). My suspicion is that it might be similar to how some people really donât like the timber from planar IEMs ( which are amazing to me ). Bottom line, ears are weird.
@PopinTeddy I have heard real EST, since Thieaudio uses the Sonion dual EST on most of their stuff, but your point is accurate, and the effect is even more exaggerated on the KZ electret / magnetostatic, at least to my ear.
Yeah thatâs what I thought. For starters it would definitely take away from the mids since thereâs more emphasis on the highs now. But a man can dream no? Add in 2 more ESTs and weâre good
You lucky, means you are about to save some nice bucks
Iâve been loving single DD more and more lately.
I was feeling like I was missing some bit of magic, but that is a nice perspective, thank you.
Oh then it is a preference thingy, like I personally donât hear the so-called BA timbre, although Iâve heard people say that the SA6 is full of it haha. In that case then, itâs good that youâve found the niche you canât take, makes it easier for you to pick!
