I did a few weight measurements and this is what I got
Xhins graphene short cable - 21g
Olina cable - 15g
Qudelix 5K - 25g
Olina - 12g
Canon - 10g
Earbuds with UTWS3 - 25g
I do notice the heft a bit more tugging on my ears but itās not a deal breaker for me. Its interesting to see my work listening setup is over twice the weight of my workout one though!
mine is more than 30g ā¦ you did good by wanting it to be shorter.
Iāll say it again - just take the plungeā¦erā¦a sip! LOL
Iāve also had my OG Teas non-stop since last Thursday - I can see why its may not be for everyone though. Iāve been rotating between my Variations (more reference tuning) and the OG Teas. For some tracks, the Variations tuning is a much better fit for my library. However, there is something about the Tea that keeps the feet tapping (in a good way).
Having a very fun session with the OH300 and Final E tips again. These are awesome. If everything else sells successfully I might see if itās in the books to keep them as a second flavor. They fit like a glove too, I wish weād see more of this shape.
TBH I donāt know if their timbre is exceptionally good or if the engagement of the tuning distracts me, but Iām not fussed by timbre at all while listening. Usually Iām aware somethingās not quite right when Iām enjoying hybrids.
EDIT: And then this always happens - when I do strongly enjoy an IEM, going back to the Serial I think āletās see if youāre such hot stuff now! I bet you wonāt be as good at xyzā. But putting in the Serials, turning them up a little louder usually than whatever was before themā¦ theyāre just the best, love them.
I donāt have any fanboy allegiance with anyone though, Penon have some serious issue afoot for Nymz to get two QC disaster sets in a row. Thatās not on! Interested if how theyāll respond to a repeat issue on their part.
have you ever had to use a balanced connection for a IEMā¦ besides the P1 most IEMs are easy enough to run on small dongles with single ended onlyā¦ so i dunno why youād need balanced on am IEM
This is what I need in my life:

Hopefully itās under 8 USD
I donāt have insta, what is it?
it seems cool but I personally still find it awkward to walk in office with cable dangling around!!
I personally feel itās more convenient to let the cable be under the shirt ā¦ and collar can support IEM at the topā¦ but YMMV
I do this, but what do you do when someone starts talking to you and you gotta take out your IEMs? Thatās when I think Iād use this lol. Happens often at my work
I want to do something like this but gaudy and stealthly with a bolo tie.
how can something be both lmao
The earphones are stealthly, the bolo tie is the gaudy distraction from the earphones. But it only works with a collared button-up shirt.
Very grateful to have been able to pick these up from a gracious user.
Right off the bat theyāre smaller than I expected which, is a bonus. Iāve never heard the Falcon Pro so, I have no idea how they compare. Iāve also not heard many sub $150 single DD IEMs. Without having access to my notes I believe only the Hana 2021, Timeless and Hook-X are the three. With the Hana 2021 being the one I most enjoyed for its overall tuning. I just didnāt find it getting used much once other IEMs came into my roundup.
Right now Iām only 30 minutes into listening to them and can say Iām super impressed. Shame these were only limited to 100. Iām thinking these will easily become my end game single DD IEM with no need to chase more. Just need to get past the honeymoon phase for final determination
First listen was with the atmospheric nozzle and stock black silicone tips with my Q5K via 2.5 Balanced. Iām trying some tip rolling however, each nozzle will get at least a week before switching. In the future if thereās any interest I can post a comparison but, given the availability it may be fairly low.
Oh manā¦Iāve been wanting to try those. When youāve got a chance, Iād be curious how they stack up against any of your XENNs?
Let me know if youāre ever looking to move on!
I had a set of solid grilles of different sizes because Penon randomly offer them as a freebie with other purchases. I knew Iād stuffed too much cotton down the last time I was messing with the KZ DQ6ās that I have, and that I was never sure if the mesh grilles would lift/peel.
After putting an identical amount of cotton into each (rolled, central passage of nozzle clear cotton festooning the walls of the nozzle) I was able to cap them with an incredibly finished look thanks to these pepper-pot grilles.
Iād just been giving the Globe some time (about as bass-rich/L-shaped of a take on an IEM as I can take I think) and I may even prefer the DQ6.
Nowadays we know itās just a single DD, but the result is great regardless. I wonder if I took a heat-gun to the sides and did what was necessary to unclog the XUN driver of glueā¦ I wonder what the effect would be. I think this is my favorite budget ($30 and below) IEM. I can contrast with the Chus soon but I may prefer these.
EDIT: Oh, tips - I used something to hand at my desk. Sony knock-offs (narrow bore, necessary with these nozzles!) I think āsmallā, they have the peach colored inner.
EDIT2: Super impressed by the timbre of Vinter by Myrkur - the piano, but also the vocals. And the tone and space in Sad Organ by Men I Trust. Beautiful lyrics and bass notes in Break for Lovers.
Iām really enjoying these. Ah yes great bass texture/quantity in Morse Code.
The Tin T3 Plus is one of the few budget selections I havenāt tried ā but it graphs very similarly to the Serial! Iād be interested to hear from anyone who has tried both. I donāt expect them to have a similar effect despite FR - the ineffable bass qualities of the Serialās dedicated biocellulose driver for example.
