I also think that people and also reviewers get influenced by other people or reviewiers pretty easy and fast.
I think about BGGARs review of the Fearless Roland. He hyped the hell out of these things and after some critical voices of other reviewers and especially crinacle he removed the Rolands from his list and nearly never meantioned again…
Oh, that’s definitely true, but that’s the danger about being so passionate about the hobby. When initial excitement takes hold, it’s hard not to hype an item, even though one’s intentions may be pure. I think he has made a lot of positive changes on how he approaches his reviews. For example, his current hype of the MEST was built up gradually over time, making sure his initial impressions continue to hold true.
Bellsing, the same as a lot of chi-fi uses. (KZ included.)
My point though, is that even if they use an “inferior” driver. If they tune it well it is possible for it to be better than a “superior” driver. (knowles/sonion vs bellsing).
The fact that no one thought twice about the solaris case is proof of that.
And my own LZ A6 also uses bellsing BA´s but sound way better than all other iems I have that have knowles (including the 8 knowles BA, Audiosense T800).
True, but it’s the premise that people who are spending X amount on an IEM want to know that CA are using the highest quality possible components. People don’t think that CA bought belting because they could tune them well, most people believe that they bought belting because they didn’t want to pay more for Knowles and tune them
Yikes! Is that the real internals of the Orion with nothing removed inside???
I had my heart set on the Andromeda until I saw the photo of it opened. I really have to wonder if the asking price for these Campfire sets is really worth it or if they’re just lining their pockets with our money because we are fools?
An MMCX connector connected to 1 BA? WTF? At least with these Chi-fi IEMs a lot of them are clear so you can see the internals and actually make yourself feel somewhat OK with your purchase because it appears to be one hell of a task to cram all of that tech into such a tiny space.
Their shell designs & construction aren’t up to the standards of their competition. They look cool with their weird edges, but is that really what you want stuck into your ears?
EDIT: Microscopic zoom-in of the Campfire Solaris…
Campfire Audio & ALO Audio before it, IMO, know how to market. I know I’ve fallen for it during their ALO iteration. Hell, I have a ALO mini-to-mini cable for sale that cost me ~$240; I have it currently listed at $85 and zero serious interest shown by buyers. I think most of the long-timers don’t go for it anymore, or I’m just really out of touch (highly possible)
