IEM discussion thread (Part 1)

Sennheiser one isn’t really proprietary its just an extended MMCX which some others also use although the “standard” MMCX is much more commonplace

I see, thanks. Just hard to find out which fit, I guess

Its a great cable. My one issue is it feels a bit “sticky” compared to my other cables. I am not sure if that will wear off or not

Odd, I never had any stickiness to mine.

also never had that with any of my tripowin cables or others besides my Xinhs Graphene

interesting! I have a Xinhs Graphene as well and I would say its a similar sticky/tackiness. the smoothest cable I have is the Moonlight one although its also the stiffest. The Kinera Gramr cable is my least stiff and the Xinhs/Tripowin are in the middle. My Mele cable is also sticky/tacky whereas my Olina cable is pretty slick

Okay, maybe I was misinterpreting the terms used; I consider tacky and sticky to be two different things with cables/materials. To my mind, “tacky” means it can give resistance against another surface where “sticky” to me means having a film-y feeling, either like it’s leaving residue on contact (or actually leaving residue on contact, which is gross). I would consider my Zoe to be borderline “tacky” but not sticky. I’ve had a couple of cables that actually had a sticky feeling, and felt like they’d either leave something on you or pick up dirt and dust from surfaces and the environment around you.

ah okay that makes more sense. I consider sticky/tacky to be the same. I have never had a cable that felt like it would leave a residue… that would be gross haha

My BTR3K on balanced output, 20/32 volume, 95mV and 0.28mW drives my Olina to more that 100db which is very loud…!
Unless you listen @ VERY high volume, 376mV seems crazy high to me :grinning:

Yep, I’m pretty sure my qudelix is borked. There is no way my hearing is that bad

Have you tried to change the bluetooth source device?
or maybe USB mode on pc?

Yep, different Bluetooth sources and USB mode changed nothing. I also tried directly into my Macbook and while I do listen louder in the setting (7-9/16) it’s not crazy loud imo

How old is your Qudelix? They have a 12 month warranty right? Their customer service is also pretty good, from what I’ve heard. They’re a South Korean company, so should give better support than most other chifi options

The Stellaris is getting terrible reviews
