The shell looks like a FiiO FHsomething.
Another post about impacts of inverted polarity
Has anyone here tried the nicehck c24-2 24 core cables? I liked the gray, black, and blue look and wanted to see how they measure and how thin the cores they use on the cables are so I went ahead and grabbed one on sale from KR Hifi on AE.
I can measure the general diameter and individual core diameter and resistance in the evening if you wish.
In general I like it a lot, it is a very lightweight, supple and soft cable and there are no preformed earhooks, so ergonomics are perfect.
From the visuals the hardware is of very nice quality and it matches OG MEST by colour, but in the long run I would probably prefer to add rather different colour aesthetics, so it wonāt end up looking like this:
Hell yeah, Iād love it if you could post those measurements for me. I ordered it regardless because I tend to like the small cores in a thick braid look of the 16core cables I have and I figured 24 would be cool to see. Plus, I have a couple IEMs I think it might look pretty cool with. Itāll be a departure from my normal straigh blakc routine.
As for that Britney and Federline picā¦ Iām really at a loss for words lol! I mean, Iāve heard of the Canadian tuxedo before, but Iāve never seen the female version.
Single core is cir. 0.50mm, the whole wire combined is between 3,60-4,00mm. Quick measurement of the resistance:
on one side I have 0,30-0,40 Ohm, on the other I have really strange values (like 1,2Ohm on gnd line and 10+ on the signal), that I would need to double check with proper measurement
The first side measures about what I would expect given measurements I have performed on their 16 core OCC offering, the 1.2 isnāt too bad, but the 10+ and the variance between the sides is interesting/concerning. Iāll be very interested to see if you can figure out whatās going on there and to measure this bad boy myself when I get the chance.
My girlfriend is quite a bit younger than me (fucking Gen Z) and she couldnāt understand why I was laughing as she thinks this is a good look and of the momentā¦then proceeded to murder my soul for 20mins with instagram of influencers dressed in double denim.
She asked if we could go out like this!!! And she was not being ironic.
Pray for me
The resistance between jack and the terminals are between 0,4-1,2Ohm after measurements. Quite large variance, but there may have been some oxydation on the plating, so I would not worry about that.
What is worrying is that there is literally 32 Ohms between L and R terminal (where it should be ideally infinite!), so from Kirchoffās law there would be significant crossfeed between Left and Right channel (magnitude being a function of the iem impedance).
No other cables in my possession have this problem (there is always O/L open line readout on the multimeter), byt I would do listening with channels separated in the evening to see if it it perceivable. All in all there must have been some soldering error I assume
Edit: something went terribly wrong with my calculations I would consult with electronic engineers
Lol thatās Justin Timberlake!!
@JAnonymous5150 fucked up and revealed his true Britney standom - blocking out the JT period - TEAM Britney - life only began with the backup dancer
After Cry Me a River, if youāre a Britney stan and JT isnāt dead to you, youāre not a real one
Look at JT, tryinā hard to fit in! My bad! Now I feel bad for not giving credit where credit was due. Nothing says love like trying to fit in with your girlāsā¦uhā¦cultural tastes. Yeah, thatās itā¦
Edit: P.S. Fuck Timberlake. Anyone who brings a song like that bringinā sexy back BS into being gets permanently excommunicated from my musical cool kids club. Thatās gonna last for forever and everytime I hear it a little piece of my soul dies.
Thanks for putting that shit in my headā¦
Nothing worse than a grown man sporadically saying āIām bringing sexy backā¦ Yeahā under their breadth at work
Now thatās funny!
Cry me a river is my guilty pleasure
So these gorgeous babies arrived last week. Massive shout out to @Sonofholhorse who - generous madman that he is - sent me these to try out, thank you so much again brother!
I have only just had time to listen to a few tunes this morning for tip rolling more than anything, so need to spend some quality time with them now.
Question for those of you who has experienced offerings from Campfire Audio: what is there best balanced (or should I say U shaped?) set? I prefer my listening enjoyment on the warmer side of things.
Balanced with some warmth? Andromeda comes to mind. I have only had the Andro 2020, Andro S, Supermoons, and Solaris. I have heard some of the others like Honeydew, Holocene, Satsuma, Comet, Trifecta, etc. Of all those the Andro 2020s are the direction I would go for balanced/U shaped with some warmth. The Andros really are a pretty special IEM and I still love mine.
Any opinions on the Aful Performer 5? Worth the blind buy?
