And that is the one thing I know is the fact in this hobby. The rest… nah
I love when people state THEY know what the truth is, when we in an area as subjective as what sounds good or not, they always makes me laugh and think: “get older and wiser, then we can talk”
It is like listening to Amir and his cult at ASR, where the graphs and measurements are the one all and be all of audio. And nobody is to question that.
Hmmm for me it is a tough call… I own both and like both… I have different uses for them though. Kind of depending on my mood and what I am listening to… I know this does not make sense at all… Comfort wise I prefer the FH3 if that helps. My main IEM is the Campfire Andro 2020 . It is the one I use most and is endgame IEM for me…
Ironically, the FH3 is more power efficient than the 03.
Which means you will get closer to the FH3´s full potential on your sources than the 03. So the difference should be even bigger, since the 03 sounds even more bloated with a lack of power.
A step up? Yeah… I’d say the difference is in the amount of detail and imaging. Blons just can’t keep up with a hybrid set. They’re like a technical upgrade.
I will say I much prefer the tonality of the Blons. Slight V shape that shows a bit more with modding. I find the vocals are far more present, cymbals hit harder, and there’s more power in the mids. FH3s kinda smooth all that over. Lots of detail, but smooth and kinda relaxed. Vocals are softer, guitars don’t snap, cymbals are dulled.
With the FH3s I’m like, “Wow, detail and smoothness and the bass dynamics, and nothing is offensive.”
now owning the FH3 for 2 weeks now, I concur. Due ot the hype I was expecting more… I also went from the entry $30 tier to mid tier. burt my starting point was within the FiiO family with, JadeAudio EA1. A BE 1 DD driver for 30 bucks… had to try it. It was wow eye opening coming from moderately priced headphones, and a mid tier TWS. The EA1 still does some things better than the 4X cost of the FH3. I have to agree with Slick and BGGAR that the FH3 is smooth, non offensive, but missing some of the excitement and decay of cymbals.
Yeah. It’s like an easy to recommend IEM because it just does things so well…
But I don’t love them. They don’t turn a spark to me the way modded Blons do. Aside from bass texture and microdetails, everything is kinda just “good” and a little uninspiring.
It’s kinda like a higher-trim Honda Civic. Good for anything, gives you a little thrill, affordable… kinda missing some passion that makes other cars amazing.
Is there a cheap, sub $50, iem that compares to the bl03 sound quality wise, but has better sound isolation? I just want something that blocks out most noise when children are screaming around me and I need to get work done. A BA driver would be nice.
If you mean Blon 03 sound, as in strong bass, neutral mids, recessed highs and subbass, the kbear os1 pro got that. But the kbear ks1 is amazing and I would skip them and go for that.
Intoit reviews on YouTube, folks in the comments were telling me how good they are and that I should get them since they are so cheap. It supposedly has a Blon driver of some type in it…the tuner Larry Fulton claims. Someone opened a Blon 01 and ks1, and theirs pics. But the two of them are different.
