Has anyone seen reviews of the HUM TT. I just received mine and I have them burning in. However wanted to gather other perspectives
Mangird Tea rated a C
I ignored that mediocre ratingā¦ and Iām glad I did. LOL
The Tripowin TC-01 is $49 I believe. It fits very flat/flush to the ear, but I donāt think iās an isolation monster by any means. Sound quality is very good, similar to Blon, and it has plenty of sub-bass. Cable is pretty good, rolls up nice and doesnāt tangle, and has comfortable ear guides.
Oh and it has a single dynamic driver.
Yeah, driver flex wont happen to everyone but sometimes the iem itself can be badly designed so it happens to a lot of people. (like the Ibasso IT00.)
I really think driver flex is a combination of all or one of the followingā¦
- Your ear canal shape
- IEM shell shape
- Tips used
- Size of vent hole
I would however say if the IEM design is solid then driver flex means one way of another you have a good sealā¦as long as the shell stays in place.
yup, those are the factors.
And yeah, getting driver flex is another way to confirm that you get a good seal. In fact, driver flex just means that you seal so well that the air cant escape so they go into the iem itself and cause trouble lol.
This is where good iem design would allow the vent to fully alleviate the pressure/air and therefore wont cause any flexes.
I think a well fitting IEM will exert more Pressure/Air movement on the DD when being fitted than play back doesā¦hence no driver flex when listeningā¦having a larger vent hole may well relieve driver flex when fitting but my comprise playback quality.
A larger vent definitely helps with pressure and driver flex alleviation. But they might also improve soundstage, like the EX800ST/1000.
Oh thisās getting so "Headphoney " LMAO
lol, for me, having a big vent is a plus because I love huge soundstages and the con with a big vent (isolation) isnt something I need.
Ok cool Iām gonna keep this thread on topic and move the āFlexā stuff to the IEM discussion tread
Ok back on topicā¦my Z1Rās have a great fit, my best fitting IEMāsā¦slam like MoFoās and absolutely no driver flex when fittingā¦I also like my IT00ās and they flex like little bitches when fittingā¦so who knows
Damn, the z1r looks like one of the worst fitting iem to me. Guess you hit the jackpot.
My sonic (cheap?) diamond in the dust and an absolute endgame for meā¦I just need to up my source game, selling and saving fast lol.
My bad fit historyā¦Blon 03ās fit sucked big time for me, did an OK good job sound wise for the little but seemed to try too hard to be dope and bad fit for me = fail.
P1ās fucking love 'em driven by my iFi Micro a banging set once you can get them fitted and ā¦they have always entertained and intrigued me form my first listen
@Rikudou_Goku what source do you use to evaluate your sets, I guess like Chris you have a fav and stick to it?
I use the Ibasso DX160. But since I gotten the Schiit Asgard 3, I find myself using it more than the DX160. I still use the DX160 when I review stuff for consistencyĀ“s sake.
Saving for the DX300 at the mo which will hopefully be my source till I can save more and for some L&P swank lol.
Personally I wouldnt spend that much on a portable source. I rather put it on a desktop setup, cheaper and better quality from that.
You arent going to be able to listen to the iem at its fullest potential if you are using it outside anyway with all the distractions.
weāre on a Barge and 240v is a premiumā¦so battery is bestā¦so no, no big mono blocks and ribbon speakers lol.
Hugo 3??? could/would be a yes
