Excellent to hear I have a set incoming as well, thanks for sharing your impressions!
Why thank you, sir - have you tried the SR5 yet? I could have sworn I saw a TDM review of it before but regardless, I think you’ll enjoy them. I think even on an objective level, they’re a set that can’t be denied, preferences aside.
I absolutely agree, dude, boiling it down to just 3 IEMs would be tough for me - the 3 buds part I could do, no sweat I think. Btw, seeing your bud journey has been awesome to witness. If you had to throw a hypothetical out there for the IEMs you’ve heard (not owned) what would be your 3?
Honestly, this wasn’t even that hard.
- Voldemort - Nothing is as versatile. Period. It’s not hyperbole to say it literally does everything
- Dark Magician - That would cover all my midcentric needs and split the difference between Fan 2 and Panda
- VULKAN - There was a reason this was living rent-free in my head for a year. This set is the poster child for “If you know what you want, stop dicking around with cheaper sets, and save up for your “endgame” set” to me
Very well written thoughts and thank you for the database shoutout. I’m stoked to see it clicking with you so well. Thanks @VIVIDICI_111 for keeping this set in the forums and passing it to Dom. The set didn’t have anything offensive just nothing special going for my taste. It’s great to read it hits so well for you.
It bothers me when I read you’ll never have a wow moment after hearing TOTL kilobuck IEMs. My two biggest mind blown moments were from two sub $250 sets. And all the those occurred after the U12t and Monarch MKII and a few others at least double their cost.
Absolutely as solid as they come. Obviously I’ve been beyond spoiled for choice when it comes to IEMs I’ve tried, so here it goes;
-
Annihilator - oh what a surprise, amirite? But seriously, this set would take care of 99% of my library better than any other IEM I’ve ever tried.
-
OG DM - going to have to copy you and say the DMs would take care of any and all vocal centric music with east and authority. Beautifully tuned and textured playback these have.
-
VE EXT - weird one, but honestly, probably the best Mid Bass playback I’ve heard to this date. Super fast but also with so much authority. Bass guitar has never sounded as good since I heard these beasts.
Leaving out so many other IEMs literally pains me but just like you said, it’s like picking your favorite kid(s) - it’s a tall task
Thanks, brother - i agree, I’m happy this set will remain in the forums and since I have such a hard time letting go of my IEMs that mesh with me, they’ll be sticking around for a while. @VIVIDICI_111 is the man for getting these for me
I’m sorry, man, but it’s true! The reason isn’t what you think, though. It’s not like those other multi Kilobuck IEMs set some kind of benchmark or something and nothing can compare to them, but quite the opposite. It’s almost like I’ve heard these ridiculously priced IEMs and most of them did not blow me away. A few did, for sure but it’s almost like CanJam was a cleanser. I got it all out, in one day, over the course of a few hours and now I know my preferences down to a tee. While the SR5 isn’t necessarily special in a Sense where it does one particular thing Brilliantly, but it does nearly the entire spectrum extremely well which in its self, is somewhat special. I Hope that makes sense!
#1 Z1R probably no explanation necessary… (that V shape’s kinda my bag) one of if not the best bass to this day…mids recessed if you look at the graph but that’s never been a real life listening issue for me even with female vocals etc…and that super tweeter is
#2 OG Tin P1…that set if given enough of the right hybrid tube tips + fit does amazing things aka ‘that special sauce’…perfect no, no way but perfectly special
#3 Sunniva…Can’t see anyone not liking this bud… if mid’s are your thing then you’re in for a treat + in a detailed but non fatiguing treble, a solid bass that’s more mid than sub focused so yeah…a set.
Wait what’s this?
Every time I say it’s name I get flamed, so I’m not saying it anymore…LOL
coughcoughozarcoughcoughcough
OHHHHHH hahaha sorry that was over my head! Gotcha!
I see what you did there!
I’m affraid this kind of joke will leave a definitive scar on this forum.
LOL you cant change the nature of a scorpion
Dude, these look very solid. I looked through the rest of their line up and they have some very affordable options with ANC. Whether or not they’re a good playback, is a completely different matter.
indeed they look solid. keeping an eye on the Baseus Bowie MA10 ANC which is on sale for 30$ starting 10th of July.
That’s a nasty one! Is that the katana that did it we see above?
