Question to those with databases. How are you tweaking your target for display on your database? Iād like to make some adjustments to mine and have no idea. As of now I just put a bunch of IEMs into REW I liked and averaged/smoothed them. Came really close just needs some adjustments in certain areas.

Calling the comments in here toxic sounds like a milksop. Probably the result of excessive moderating.
Iāve got this part sorry for the confusion. I want to adjust the actual target like to add a little more midbass and a bit of a dip at 4k. Edits would be to the TXT that REW outputs but, thatās a lot of lines. Thought there might be some other website or something available to tweak it and output another file. Iām assuming itās not done through REW or the database backend.

Iām just too lazy to update it ahahWhat dongle or amps do you guys use with SoundRhyme SR8 and Neon Pro? I found the NP to do best with Cayin RU6 (have no RU7 atm). Now they became punchier and less sibilant. Cirrus Logic or ESS just wonāt do it as well or is it just brain burn-in?
After a while NP shell is causing some discomfort to one ear - similar to SR5. SR8 on the other hand is super comfy. Your ears may vary.

We need to be careful of circular arguements and a narrow idea of toxicity - most of us came from/still use Head-fi but also come here. If the idea of HFGF toxicity is due to a narrative of complaints against Head-fi inconsistencies generated from its own ex/existing members who also post on HFGF surely those complaints cannot simply be dismissed as toxic without looking at the actual behaviour under question. To do so would be toxic and so we continue in an accusatory loop ad nauseam.
Toxic cannot just mean any comment we donāt like or agree with - it has to have a disproportionate, unjust or unethical intent to harm. If the complaints are not legitimate then we need to police that as a community (which, IMO at least, does seem to happen here pretty fairly) but if they are legitimate then - this becomes simply a case of āDonāt shoot the messenger for delivering the messageā which is a shame.

And remember tips can make a big difference for comfort too! Can be long or short or wide or narrow or some combination of that can help or hinder the comfort of the IEM so always try tip rolling!

I generally agree, I love this place and I am in the exact posity you describe - still an user of both portals, while significantly preferring the atmosphere and people on HFGF.
What I meant was just what you mentioned in the first paragraph - to be truly friendly place we should take higher road more often than not. And while I think it happens here most of the time there are cases of us being pricks or square heads as well (sometimes in jokes sometimes not), which may be especially hard for newcomers not knowing people around to get a grasp of.
And constant comments of head fi being sucky place to be also calling specific names of people out there
(shills or not) may be discouraging and triggering some ādefense mechanismā of people looking around here coming from head fi

I agree with your overall statement although I do think its fair to call people out for being less than ethical and claiming subjective results as objective fact such as saying āX cable is necessary to listen to IEM Yā. I donāt think its okay to be derogatory or hateful towards anyone though, thats not useful or beneficial to any conversation

Iāve been going back and forth with a guy on the discovery thread and I finally just gave up and extended my proverbial hand in a peace offering, recommending some music to him and I invited him to do the same.
Itās totally taxing going back and forth with some folks. I donāt believe my opinion is objectively anyoneās truth, but I do feel strongly about a reviewer with a platform being honest. Thatās the core of my statement. Everything else is whatever tbh. Shady companies like Penon can kick rocks as far as Iām concerned but they will always be successful if weāre all just being honest here.
Ever since AmericanSpiritās departure from the thread, a shit storm has ensued which obviously wasnāt his intention. I feel bad about doubting him back in the day because as it turns out, all of his recent recs have worked out for me. H570 tips, SR5 and 41T. Now with his new project coming out and all the details surrounding it, I think he for one belongs in a place such as HFGFs where itās a lot more lowkey and down to earth. Iām just going to let those other players play in their own space on HeadFi. Iāll still lurk every now and again, but Iām so tired of the arguing over there. Itās crazy.

I have started hearing a lot about these tips. How do you like them? I have yet to find a tip that sounds as good as the letshuoer gray tips but Im tired of having to dig them out of my ears
