IEM discussion thread (Part 1)

Wonder if this one will go the same way the MT300 did. The MT300 launched at a price of around 180 usd, now its at 80 usd lol.

lol, that doesnt sound that good, was it so bad?

Probably because no one bought it and they needed to get rid of stock so they lowered the price.
(being banned on head-fi certainly doesnt help them…)

But now people have bought it and most seems to love them.

Do you know why they were blocked on headfi?

yeah, I would ban urbanfun and unban a lot of those older brands like senfer. Feels like they have already served in prison for decades lol. :joy:

Hey guys, if I am going to get an ear tip right now for example for my Starfields, which one should I get? Spiral Dots or the Sedna Earfits?

The sedna are kind of a budget spiral dots. So getting both is redundant.

Although I much prefer the Radius Deep mount tips than either of those wide-bore tips, it has more treble than them, airier sound and yet reduces peaks more than those 2.

@Rikudou_Goku, have you ordered any of those iems you mentioned few posts above?

Check my database, I got a tip ranking page there. Thats the tips I have and use.

Can’t speak in terms of sound how the tips would pair, but out of all the tips that I have tried I always go back to Spiral Dots or Final Type E. Outside of default tips that come with each IEM, I have tried Spiral Dots, Final Type E, Symbio W, Comply, and Sedna Xelastec eartips.

Do anyone here have any experiance whit FIR Audio? Do they make good and quality productsl, im intrested in their M4 Iem anyone have tried it?

FiR Audio is a split-off company that was created by one of the brothers and founders of 64 Audio. He brought over a lot of the technology and techniques used in 64 Audio products as well. I would say they make good and quality products. I don’t have experience with M4, but I think @Towa demo’ed one and can give you some feedback.

Does anyone have the bgvp zero? I was thinking of getting one.

Anyone hear the PMV PP? Curious about Planars, especially if it’s a little easier to drive than Tin P1. Bit given they talk about being “easy to drive because low impedance”, I’m not that confident.

My BGVP DM8 IEM’s finally arrived. Had them running for the past couple of hours now. Sound pretty darn good I must say so far. I don’t know how many hours they have on them if any (purchased very lightly used from a member on head-fi). Of course, running them balanced via the HiBy R5 Saber, which it’s amp also needs some run-in time as I’ve only been using BT Jaybird Vista’s with it, and the R5 is brand new.

Maybe once everything is run in I’ll do a small review, though I have nothing to compare the DM8’s to except the Vista’s. Hmm… Anywho…

I’ve received Fiio FH3 today and been listening to them all morning! Super happy with purchase, they sound incredible! Bass is not overpowering but it can slam when called upon, highs are excellent.
Compared to Hifiman RE600, they totally outclass them, from bass to highs. Only there’s some thing with RE600 and vocals, all vocals sound fantastic.
Friend of mine shared a song from Mercedes Sosa - Gloria, for first time I heard bass (actually subbass) behind her vocal which was completely missing on RE600 (at around 1:09)

Early into the voting but:

Rip BA sets lol.

I don’t really get the hate on ba sets, I recently got the earsonics grace which is a 10 ba set and I am loving it so far, sounds very detailed and the timbre seems pretty natural to me.
