Would be awesome to have it in two parts: the bare minimum, then the other stuff for those of us interested in diving in deeper!
Yeah I have multiple chapters already. Will likely have an optional part with other installation guides and optional read for more in depth info.
Most demanding thing i have atm is a WoW server.
SO here I am to stir the pot a little!
I picked up a new IEM cable as a replacement for the cable that comes with the incoming P5+2 IEM.
Unfortunately, the IEM is delayed. So I figured, why not try it on one of my existing sets? I took out my Chopin which currently has a purple Linsoul Tripowin Zoney on it and put on the new cable. And I’ll be damned, I like this new one better. The presentation is cleaner and more energetic without sacrificing any bass or depth of stage. In fact, the extra energy mid-top is creating this perception of a wider stage. Very impressive. I think I’m just gonna keep this one on and perhaps get another for the P5+2!
So in this case, the cable matters. Is it just me, or does the cable play a bigger role with respect to driving IEMs?
Had to throw in a shot of the system in action!
I’m still kinda blown away by how well the TA-20 drives IEMs. Between that and the SH-9, I feel like I am pretty much covered. The SA-1 is still strong option as well, but it’s mostly a preamp for the speaker system now.
Cables matter. How much depends on the whole chain and your ears.
Good selection of sources there!
Thank you. It took a while to come to this configuration, and I am very happy with the result. None of these pieces break the bank, but collectively they deliver big. Endless enjoyment.
When I get a new iem I always try to find the right cable for it. Most of the time it is not the provided cable.
It is truly amazing to me how this conversation refuses to die after decades of discussion and such a lopsided amount of readily-available empirical evidence in support of the conclusion that cables have an insignificant objective influence in all but the most edge cases. Such a good case study on the powers of placebo and marketing. Cables look cool, should be comfortable for you, and should transmit music, that’s it; don’t chase fairies. Buyer beware.
If I didn’t already have one of these on the way, I’d buy that.
Don’t you have a a nice little spot for it on the barge?
Seems like C12 is having some sort of revival lately
I dropped the right side of my Mele into a cup of coffee, and they still work. I feel lucky in that it was a $50 set in the first place.
I got a scare last night with my S08. I was using it perfectly fine for gaming on my PC in the afternoon and when I was gonna listen to it before sleeping, the right side just died with no sound. Tested with different cables and sources and it was still nada.
After that, like the engineer that I am, I lightly knock it (seriously light) on my desk (with mousepad) and then the right side works again but not as loud as the left. I decided to knock it a bit more then it works perfectly fine again. Any idea why this could happen? Currently its winter here so I dont think moisture issue or anything especially when it works again after a few knocks. Maybe faulty parts inside not making contact?
Sorry if not the right discussion thread for this!
I reckon I am of the same school of thought. I personally have not found the difference to be audible enough, well atleast to my ears i guess.
This is a hobby just like many others i indulge in, and in any hobby people will do anything that they reckon improves the experience even if it is, possibly, only marginal.
Just got my BT20 Pro and missed the memo on flush pin connectors lol
My Variations work but I am very worried it’ll fly out lmao
This’ll be great on my other stuff though
You can buy other connectors for it though
