Thank you all for voting in the previous rounds. I think this is it. The final round to help me figure it out. Please help me out

System architecture

  • Sensitive (drivers will be impedance corrected, but still be mildly reactive to impedance by a tiny bit compared to non-zobelled drivers)

  • Less sensitive impedance at 1k is matched to amplifier’s comfortable output level (16/32ohms)

  • It can be a speaker load it could be a Helios or something worse than that :skull: (you will probably need an amp capable of more than 500mw while also being an almost perfect amp (Output Impedance < 1ohms),
This option allows for my custom ISI tech (Immune System Impedance) basically makes the iem as flat as a resistor in impedance across the FR like X +/-0.2ohms level stable, This might drop the sensitivity by 10~30dB but it becomes an extremely stable load that will never react to a different amp or a cable change, the tonality chane will not exceed 0.3dB across the whole FR even if it was under a ridiculous 1kohm impedance. :skull:
Also this tech prevents crossover shift from external impedance.

  • Sensitive
  • Less Sensitive
  • It can be a Speaker Load for all I care

Would you like Tuning Flexibility?

  • Switches to change tuning
  • Potentiometer to control SPL of Bass driver like JH…

I forgot one more Thing

Do you want bass to be vented out below 20Hz, or have max isolation with zero driver flex and have a filter to cut bass below 20Hz?

  • 20Hz Filter
  • Vent Bass below 20Hz

Anyone is welcome to use all the polls I have made so far, if it is helpful in anyways. Thanks for taking your time to vote.

Spiral Ear - SE6 Nebula

How is it possible that so many of the European IEMs come from the same country that is Poland? this brand maybe isnt as famous as PMG or Lime/craft ears but it older than all of them and also very very good. IEM Tour Group Europe is great for getting to experience things like this.

I’ve demoed it but couldn’t get a proper fit / insertion depth with the stock tips. Might give it another go with a couple of other ones though.

Thats why I sold my a8000 which I loved but fit was a shitshow no matter how many tips I tried

That’s a real shame. In my case, I couldn’t get the A10000 inserted deep enough so everything sounded distant. Wonder if Dunu S&S will do the trick.

I think I tried S&S as well with no luck. The combination of short nozzle length smaller diameter and need for bigger tips is super tricky to fix.

Foam tips worked but it affected the sound and comfort more than I liked

Thanks for the heads up!

finals TWS tips worked really well for me, but i liked the fusion-G also.

others that worked well: Azla vivid, crystals, sednafit, mithryl.

Baroque stage, divinus velvets, velvet TWS version.

its hard to say what went wrong for you but I just get the angle right and they fit like a glove.

I have a hard time thinking you wont have a snug fit with some tip rolling.

This was the main issue in my case. I’m not sure if it was the shape of the shell or the tips but I’ll bring some of my own for the second try. PS Thanks for the list of tips, that helps to narrow things down.

Headsup for people in the EU.

" Only 15 days left till the new 3€ tariff per item category in every parcel for all countries in the european union.

Short summary:

  • Affected will be all orders outside from the EU (aliexpress, alibaba, temu,…)
  • Starting July 1st 2026 (valid till at. least 2028)
  • Fee is per item category per parcel. For example if you order multiple handhelds, you’ll have to pay 3€ if they are in the same parcel, but if your order additional items like cables, dongles, cases, you have to pay another 3€ per item category. If your order is shipped in lots of small parcels, you will get wrecked by fees.
  • Fees have to be collected by AliExpress in the future. Similar to the US tariff situation I guess.
  • Some countries and package delivery companies will charge additional fees in the future (france, austria)
  • Additional handling fees for customs will be implemented in november"

5mm dd… nothing to see here, Sony is a shell of their former self…

They maximized the isolation by using a tiny driver so they can have it be completely sealed without much risk of driver flexing. Purely for stage use I guess.

Let’s hope this is just the first in a to be developed line of new proper earphones.

Edit: just realised this means they haven’t abandoned the category yet so that’s positive.

Long time, no post!

What are your top 5 IEMs under $500 for rock?

I’m mainly looking for good mid-bass punch and texture, strong dynamics, and convincing guitar timbre. I don’t want anything too boomy or overly warm. Older or newer sets are both welcome.

Curious to see your picks.

No particular order:

  • ISN H60
  • Thieaudio Hype 2

Thanks again for the recommendations, Paul! I ended up pulling the trigger on the H60. I found a very good deal on a set that comes with the 4.4mm OCC849 cable, so I figured it was the right one to try first.
