IEM discussion thread (Part 1)

Are you talking about FH7 or FH7s? They are quite a bit different apparantly

I have FH7. I thought you were talking about him. I haven’t listened to the FH7s, but it looks like it won’t be very good for metal with that boost in the mids.
Otherwise, if you can try the FH7 OG, unsurpassed performance for metal, knocks everything down to $1000! :sunglasses:

I really loved FH3 for metal and now i am really curious about FH7 for that specific genre. Would love to try it when i get my hands on it

Friendly PSA for all my IEM friends with more than usual wax production (and probably those with normal production as well). Clean your tips with rubbing alcohol periodically to get the best seal and thus sound quality. Its suprising how noticeable of a difference it is

C5 Vid is up up.Canuck Audioholics Anonymous CAA Reviews & Fun Banter - #72 by ToneDeafMonk

I have read 64 Audio Trio review on ASR today (obviously worse than Truthears Zero as it fits the target harman curve worse) and apart from people claiming that for IEM everything that matters is FR (and all can be decoded from that even mythical “technicalities”) a very interesting database of FR was mentioned that I am sharing. Apart form FR they did also measure impulse responses and distortion of some famous IEMs.

I might buy Lan just for the cable

Build quality is solid metal :joy: The box quality is also really nice (very sturdy structure) especially with the carvings - sound wise I’ll get back to ya’ll later :smirk:

I have been humming and ha-ing about getting a pair of Serials for several months now. Finally decided to pull the trigger but found out they are sold out! Might be a stretch but does anyone here have a set that is seeing less than normal use lately that they’d be willing to part with / and or demo for a few weeks?

Part of the hesitancy that I had comes from the inability to return to Penon if I ended up not liking them.

I hate cables with a big circular y-split though. They always seem to bug the shit out of me. The rest of this looks pretty cool though so if you’re not held back by a neuroses regarding the split then, why not at this price? Which I think is kinda what Moondrop is hoping everyone will say, much like they did with the Chu.

Definitely post on the for sale thread saying you’re looking. Thus far I’m 4 for 5 on my “looking for xyz” threads resulting in whatever xyz is joining my collection. That’s better by a long shot than my ads on head-fi/reddit have ever done!

Yeah that y split seems like a miss to me

still waiting for mine to ship…

They have the rubberized circular ones on the cable that comes with the Aria SE and SSP/SSR and it’s terrible. This one doesn’t look rubberized so it probably won’t be as bad, but even just the shape means it won’t be good.

At least it’s less jank than the splitter on the IE200 cable. Super reviews video showed it was just a piece of heatshrink

I looked too was about to pull the trig on the official Alix store and gone. I wonder what’s up with that?

A bit more expensive than I was expecting. Interested though
