Hind sight? Probably pretty stupid. I bought the UM2 about the same time along with an Amazon Basics XLR cable.

Would I still be better off with the dynamic mic? Or just picking up a new interface?

I personally would prefer the dynamic xlr with interface, but there is a good middle ground that I have forgotten, the samson q2u

Hmmm Dynamic with XLR and USB interface and direct monitoring. Interesting.

It’s pretty good tbh, and in the future can be used xlr which is pretty cool too. It might be a bit iffy for direct monitoring though as you would have to plug in to the mic itself

True, though I get the feeling that for now that’s not gonna be too much of an issue.
