Is zeos as bad as people say?

Preach! This is why I get so annoyed when I see people bully other people for liking some headphones or not liking some headphones or whatever, which I see all the time in the Discord servers and bothers me to no end.

To the untraned ear.

Zeos does a good job.

He has a very unique style in his reviews … you know exactly who is reviewing and if you’ve watched him enough, you have a good idea what he is looking for and if you need reminding, most videos have his Wall of Fame on full display.

If you are looking for measurements…there are reviewers for that. If you’re looking for better production…there are reviewers for that. If you are looking for something else…there is a reviewer for you out there. Z just does his thing. I appreciate it.

Agreed. Zeos is the great introduction to Hifi audio for the uninitiated. He brings enthusiasm and weeb in spades. He is a decent (not great) low and midfi reviewer. He starts to fall off once it gets to technical. At the end of the day it is your ears that matter.

Exactly, amateur at best, just earning his keep. We shouldn’t harp on him just because he can’t hear and is uneducated. He’s still learning the ropes. He has his motives.

This is the business Zeos is in. Yes, recommending as much entry level to high entry level stuff as humanly possible. I’d recommend people read more and jump in less to comment on hurt ego. (25 minutes to read through the entire thread. It’s all been said already. Don’t take things personally. When constructive criticisms is given, it’s to help improve the product. Anyone that has a job gets regular feedback, given that this is Zeo’s job, not sure why all you ladies have your knickers in a knot about this.

McDonald’s makes a lot of money, but no one goes there expecting a great meal; it’s fun for the kiddies though. Thar’s the general consensus I read from the apologist in the thread… go figure.

Seriously.

EDIT: for those who need to be hit over the head with the obvious, notice that you don’t buy $,4000.00 DACs through Amzaon

Wait, could this be why he links his box cutting knife every single video? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Can’t wait for Z to review and link them! :sparkling_heart: :sparkling_heart: :sparkling_heart: :sparkling_heart: :sparkling_heart: :sparkling_heart:

BTW, can’t speak about the Naim all in one… but the Morpheus isn’t great but maybe Zeos would like it over the May because, 3%. Gotta make a living.

Can’t wait for you to continue watching him because you seem to love watching someone you hate so you can collect more reasons to hate them! Can’t wait for you to continue calling anyone who doesn’t agree with you a ā€œZ apologistā€ because they’re obviously in the wrong no matter what reasons they have and will never be able to become proper humans with decent intelligence compared to you! Dude, please, calm down, you’re legit thriving off of hate and have brought nothing to this thread other than hate. We’re all entitled to our own opinions, but you don’t have to shove your opinions down everyone else’s throat while calling them ā€œZ apologistsā€ or acting like they’re the problem. Z is trying to make money, but people enjoy what he does, hence his following on YouTube and why this forum became so populated. Do you hate everyone who makes money while providing content for others? Is it wrong to make money while providing people with what they want? If people truly regret watching Z, they’d stop watching him and not be on this forum because they’d instead watch other people and/or use their own research to find out what they want. You’re doing nothing here but making a fool of yourself by spreading hate about someone as if you’re jealous that they can make money by doing what they want. If you think you need to be 100% correct and never wrong to make money, then wake up, this is reality and reality sucks. Ignore the man for not being 100% correct, don’t hate on him for being wrong since that’s human, and don’t hate on him for making money off of being wrong.

Don’t make it personal man. I don’t watch him, I am a member of this forum though, so I get to post as much as I’d like despite your grievances against my comments. The last review I watched because it was linked here was the Holo May. You know, the infamous all DACs sound alike and I can’t tell a difference between the May and a half dozen other (some $200) DACs. I bought the Monolith M1060 (used) because of Zeo’s recommendation. I also bought the Toping D10 DAC. That was some time ago for both items.

I don’t have the same ear as he does, which is alright and perfectly understandable. If you’d read through the thread, you’d have also seen how I give nothing but kudos to the guy for building an empire. I’m not a idiot however, and I understand how his empire works and consequently how his motivation to make recommendations work. Like I said, McDonals.

Out of curiosity which Patron level are you and does it give you early notice on ā€œdealsā€ ?

I think if someone who has a platform to influence people, should be open to criticism. Once people come to the realization that Zeos is more of a hype influencer than an actual reviewer, there is lot to be said. People feel mislead after devoting a lot of time watching his videos once coming to that realization. That’s why there has been a good amount of criticism. And that’s perfectly fine.

I 100% agree with what you said, but the fact is that a lot of what’s being said in this thread has spiraled away from criticism and more towards becoming a festering pool of hate. It’s less about disliking what he does in his videos and critiquing him for it and more hating him as a person for making money off of opinions you disagree with. If this thread stuck to pure criticism then I’d have never even wrote anything here and just passed along after agreeing with some critiques and disagreeing with others in my head. I’m just annoyed that there are people here who are labeling people who enjoy the entertainment they’re receiving from someone as an ā€œapologistā€ or acting like they’re better than others because they don’t ā€œsupportā€ one person in particular. I’d understand hating ā€œstansā€ of an Internet personality or other people with a platform because stans are too obsessed with the person and the false relationship they believe themselves to be apart of with that person, but hating average people for just enjoying something is just dumb.

I don’t believe that’s quite how people feel, they feel he intentionally hypes a product that will get him more money, which understandably upsets them.

Totally agree with ya here, it is very annoying.

Yeah, it’s just something I saw a few times while skimming through this thread, though it may have just been coming from one or two people and I didn’t pay enough attention. I’m 100% fine with people disliking someone/something I like, opinions I have, and actions I take, I just dislike it when people spread hate for no reason or for petty reasons, and that’s why I got a little triggered earlier.

A great ad from the 80s.

That’s understandable. And on the flip side it’s understandable why someone would be triggered to really lay it all out on someone who they feel is intentionally misleading people to make money.
