Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra is probably my favorite band of all time, and they’ve built up quite a catalogue. I absolutely adore their cover of the theme from Brazil: https://youtu.be/Jw9Av1BSefQ
Lately in terms of Japanese music, Susumu Hirasawa never fails to impress me with his unique style of music and the first time I discovered his music when Berserk 1997 was shown to me by a friend and yes I love the music and the series overall because of that. if John Williams is to Star Wars, then Susumu Hirasawa is to Berserk.
Ichiko Aoba - Kamisori Otome Her other albums are also excellent. Would definitely check those out as well
Minoru Koyama - Hard to be a Man Nice 80s funk album
Yoko Kanno - Tokyo.sora Criminally underrated Yoko Kanno album
Can never go wrong with these
The other tracks in these albums are also excellent. Will post my findings more frequently.
LOVE THIS! such a clean rhythm and clean vocals
Imma hafta look into them
then you would probably like their studio recorded stuff
Damn I’m 100% gonna check em out right now. This is totally the style I like. It’s been so long since I’ve heard Japanese music too. (usually hear Spanish and Korean)
