Some more city pop

This is a great idea for a thread, so much great music here and I’ve been able to pick up loads of new artists to check out!

Here are some of my favourites at the moment:

Great Experimental/Electronica artist.

I like to think of these guys as the Japanese Pet Shop Boys.

Some sugary sweet J-Pop!

Some not so sugary sweet J-pop.

And of course an Anime OP!

Youtube video isn’t the greatest. Might upload the album myself.

Listening to some of my favourites.

These guys always put out inspiring music. A decade later and no one knows what they look like.

They have really nice voices. Damn, can they sing.

Okinawan rock is so chill.

Five kawaii girls jamming out and having fun.

Maaya Sakamoto + Yoko Kanno is a killer combo.

Holy shit, I didn’t even know this thread existed. Time to spam my favorite Japanese Math Rock bands.
Toe is amazing and have been killing it for like ~10 years now. Fantastic technical musicianship here.

Just found Paranoid Void the other day but they have some really jamming rock tunes whilst having a somewhat haunting feel. Good stuff.

And lastly here is a full live set from Tricot!

Dunno if these have been said already but a few good japanese bands are;

Fate Gear - These are an all female metal band and ngl they are really good. The screams the singer produces would not expect from a female nvm a japanese female haha.

Vamps - Is a Japanese Rock Duo and do some pretty decent songs.

Utsu-P - Definetly not for everyone but if ur into this kind of stuff its really just. Metal Vocaloid music and that damn vocaloid sure can scream hahaha.

Edit: Seems that YT removed my video :grimacing:

Has a really nice rhythm to it. Quite catchy

Eve MV’s are always pretty amazing, love the animations they get for each video and the music is usually quite good too

Winter’s approaching but I’m missing summer.

Same artist that did the Goblin Slayer opening

Sounds a bit different from the version I have, but nevertheless an awesome track.

In the mood for some Eurobeat tonight.
